Dannii Minogue Discourages Cheryl Cole Comparisons!

Having been compared to sister Kylie for years, mum-to-be Dannii Minogue is no stranger to being measured up against famous pop stars. So the Aussie singer wasn’t exactly entering new territory when people began comparing her with fellow X Factor judge Cheryl Cole.

In response to the constant Cole comparisons, to You magazine Minogue recently said: “It’s hard because you want to have your own vibe. I have been through this with Kylie. Who is better? Who is prettier? Who has got the nicer clothes?”

Minogue is currently in Melbourne, Australia getting ready to have her first child with boyfriend Kris Smith as Cole, along with colleagues Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh, judges the first round of X Factor auditions throughout the UK. Various celebrities such as Geri Halliwell and Natalie Imbruglia have been filling in for Dannii as guest judges while she is on maternity leave.

I say Dannii needs to forget about what people think and how she compares to Cheryl, Kylie, or anyone else and make her “own vibe” by concentrating on what truly matters in life like having her first baby – which it appears she is trying to do. That’s the way to be Dannii! Good on you mate!

Leona’s a Bit Accident Prone-a!

Talk about accident-prone!  X Factor winner Leona Lewis had to be rescued after narrowly escaping a serious injury after falling down an elevator shaft at a recent concert in Sheffield, England.

The Bleeding Love singer was quoted as saying: “We have been having problems with the lift. It had been going fine in rehearsals and then I had a bit of an accident and fell down the lift shaft. It was quite scary.”

She added: “I was lucky not to get injured. Fortunately it happened during a blackout on set and didn’t affect the show and none of the audience saw anything. I got a shock and had to be rescued.”

After series of unfortunate events, such as being punched in the face by a crazy fan and head butted by her horse, I’d have to honor Lewis with the award for luckiest celebrity still standing… I wonder what her insurance company has to say about all of this?!

No Summer Wedding For Si?

After weeks of keeping us guessing as to whether he was even engaged Simon Cowell is delaying his big day again and insists there’s to be no wedding to Mezghan Hussainy this year.

According to ‘Nasty’ Nigel Lythgoe, Si’s in no rush to get hitched and is concentrating on finding judges and talent for X-Factor, which starts in the US in 2011.

He told the News of the World: “Simon has a lot to do. He has to prepare himself for the American X Factor, to try to create the next biggest show there, and he’ll be fully focused.”

But he also hinted that it might be pre-wedding jitters that are holding up the big day.

“Maybe he’s just gearing himself up. He hasn’t really known Mezghan for that long. But she was my make-up artist for six years and she and Simon are a good fit. They can make fun of each other. “He knew Terri (Seymour) for an awful lot longer. It must have been hard enough to propose for him.”

I can’t believe saying anything is too hard for Simon – this is a man that can make grown men cry with just one scathing put-down.

Maybe Nigel’s just helping Simon keep things under wraps and it’s a double bluff. Maybe it’s all systems go and Mezghan will be Mrs Cowell by the end of the year.

Hope so, as I was so looking forward to getting my invite in the mail, er… Simon!

Leona and J-Hud Join Forces for SATC 2 Soundtrack!

t Tinseltown-tales is that singers Leona Lewis, winner of Britain’s The X Factor, and Jennifer Hudson, American Idol finalist, will be hitting the recording studio together for the upcoming Sex and the City movie sequel.

Whether or not Hudson will reprise her role of Louise in addition to her vocal contribution has yet to be confirmed, but this news certainly can’t hurt chances.

Other female singers rumored to appear in the sexy sequel include: Vic-Bore-ia Beckham, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Bette Midler, and Liza Minnelli. Perhaps some of these divas will contribute to the soundtrack alongside Leona and J-Hud.

The idea of a Lewis-Hudson duet is literally music to my ears, especially when compared to Snoop Dogg’s recently planned collaboration with Susan Boyle, which is more like, I’m sorry to say, finger nails on a chalkboard to my ears.
