Mezhgan’s got the X-Factor and Simon IS engaged!

Simon Cowell puckered up with is-she, isn’t-she fiance Mezhgan Hussainy on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show last night and looked almost loved up.

The usually unflappable American Idol and X-Factor judge actually went red when Jay asked him about the new lady in his life and if the engagement rumours were true. Most unlike smartarsed Simon’s usual cool and composed responses.

He stumbled: ‘Are they true? Well, I do have somebody in my life now, Jay, yes.’

Simon then recovered enough to tell Jay he wanted a wedding ’sometime in the next ten years.’

I saw my pal Simon at Elton’s Oscar party on Sunday and he was glued to Mezhgan’s side. On other years he’s been running around and having fun with pals like Paul McKenna but this year he was happy to play the dutiful boyf to his foxy fiance. She’s obviously got to him!

Mezhgan then appeared on the Leno set and the couple shared a very awkward TV kiss. One tip Si: you might want to shut your eyes next time. It looks like you’re too busy thinking about Idol’s top twelve to get into it.

Elton’s Oscar Bash Raises Lots of Cash!

How quickly Oscars came around this year. It seemed I’d only just taken off my tuxedo in 2009, then BAM! It was back on again in 2010 for the best party in town – Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Party held at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.

This year the event raised a staggering $3.9 Million for the fight against HIV and AIDS.

Presented by Chopard, Jo and Raffy Manoukian and Neuro Drinks, the EJAF Viewing Party continues to be the leading fundraiser on Oscar night in Hollywood. The couple’s bash has become a staple for all those without an invite to the ceremony itself and this year’s guest list read like a ‘who’s who’ to the entertainment world’s biggest names, and one of the best parties thrown by the EJAF so far (still no goodie bag however, but you can’t have everything I suppose, eh David!)

I arrived with my trademark date, the stunning diamond beauty, Zeta Graff, and the evening began with a cocktail reception, dinner and viewing of the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, followed by a very exciting live auction and a high voltage performance by the iconic Grace Jones.

“I’m so blown away this year, it’s fantastic,” Elton said. “It’s our stable fundraiser for the whole year, this is by far the most important, it gets us the most publicity and it raises the most money.

“It’s hard work because you have to walk around shaking hands with everyone but when we go home and it’s all finished we’ve met people and we’ve seen great entertainment close up.”

Drawing out quite a few of our favorite celebrities, Victoria Beckham and Heidi Klum were spotted looking as elegant as ever – even Victoria (who I often label Vic-bore-ria) was far from boring when she grabbed me and gave a big hug as she exited the ladies loos, “Sean!” she yelled… “How are you? I’m a bit drunk so no photos!” OK, so Posh is back in my good books!

Not far behind the beautiful models were “Glee” co-stars Lea Michele and Cory Monteith, followed by a brunette Hayden Panettiere.

Representing the Brits this year were the likes of recently engaged Simon Cowell who was glued to his foxy fiancé Mezhgan Hussainy all night, Mel B, fashion designer Julia Clancey, Amanda Holden, Michelle Collins, Katie Price, and Sharon and Kelly Osbourne who stopped to have her picture taken with me. Kelly was one of my favorites of the evening to be honest, beaming from cheek to cheek. She told me that she was feeling on top of the world, and who could blame her, you only have to look at the transformation she has undergone – quite unbelievable.

Nicole Richie made her way into the swanky party along with Kimora Lee, Christina Hendricks, Michelle Rodriguez and the very lovely Jennifer Hudson who also stopped to chat to me, Jennifer told me she happy when she heard Simon [Cowell] was engaged: “I am so happy he is finally settling down,” she told me.

Miley Cyrus also hit the party with Liam Hemsworth. Cyrus finally confirmed what we already knew, that Liam was her official boyfriend, and Miley told the press at the event, “I think we’re both deeper than normal people—what they think and how they feel. He’s very grateful for what he has, but he doesn’t let it go to his head. I’m like that too.” How sweet!

It was a long day! Fabulous food, lots of chocolates and wall-to-wall celebs… I could have stayed all night and kipped (slang word for slept) in the corner till morning, but thankfully sometime just after midnight I was rescued by dear friends, British actor Craig Young and Michael Di Girolamo who dragged me into their chauffeured limo!

What fun was had, my gorgeous ‘Graff’ date, my photo with Elton, Kelly Osborne’s super-slim waist, Posh and Price all smiles, Godiva chocolates, and nearly $4 mil’ raised for charity… Ah, now I can rest my weary head, it was a night well worth it, roll-on next year!

Simon all warm and fuzzy? You better believe it!

Who says the love of a good women can’t melt the hardest of hearts?

Simon Cowell has publicly declared that his new girlfriend Mezhgan Hussainy is ‘the one’.

He told his pal Piers Morgan on his ‘Life Stories’ show, “I’m smitten with Mezhgan – I think she’s the one. She’s very special.”

Friends even reckon that Mezhgan and the notoriously anti-marriage Si might even tie the knot. A Cowell wedding? Now that’s a guestlist I’d like to be on!

Piers then asked if he wants kids with his new flame and Simon replied: “I think I need to have little Simons around.”

Simon first met make up artist Mezhgan seven years ago when he started working on American Idol and they’ve slowly been appearing in public together. They were spotted at Mr Chow’s in London ten days ago, and Mezhgan was sporting a sparkler on her ring finger.

Just one question Simon: who are you going to choose as your wedding singer?

SuBo’s Top Of The.. Er, Mops!

According to The Sun newspaper today, Britain’s Got Talent singing sensation Susan Boyle suffered another bizarre public meltdown yesterday when she started singing and dancing into a mop at Heathrow airport.

SuBo apparently grabbed the mop from a cleaner and gave a chaotic impromptu performance, before using the mop to clean other passengers shoes.

After receiving complaints, British Airways then tried to calm her down, but Susan fled the Terminal 5 lounge shouting, “I’ve escaped, I’ve escaped.”

An onlooker told The Sun: “It was chaos. Susan was very restless and agitated from the minute she walked in and immediately started making a scene.”

The source added, “She was singing and dancing around, shouting obscenities at full volume.”

Susan was on her way to Chicago to go on The Oprah Winfrey Show. In the end a BA staff member sat with her until it was time to board her flight.

This isn’t the first time SuBo has lost the plot and I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I don’t think SuBo is equipped to deal with the pressures of fame and it’s only a matter of time before she Boyles over again.

Hold The Front Page: Posh Chews (out Simon Cowell, that is)…

Victoria Beckham (or as I call her – Vic-bore-ria) made her anticipated guest appearance on American Idol last night and managed to hold her own against Simon Cowell – but critics weren’t impressed.

Posh was brought in as one of a few guest judges who filled Paula’s slot during the audition stages and actually contributed well to the panel, even giving Simon some stick at one point.

When Simon branded one performer’s audition ‘dull’ Victoria was quick to disagree, and then told Simon off for rolling his eyes.

She scolded him: “Why do you do that?’ He said: ‘Do what?’ She replied: ‘That thing where you roll your eyes. It takes so much nerve to stand there and do that.”

But fashion designer Posh’s appearance didn’t win her any fans and I’ve got to say I half agree. On the second day of auditions in Boston her navy dress was classy and her hair looked cute, but on day one, her dodgy lace headband was BIG fashion faux pas. And what’s with the overly made-up, tanorexic look? She made sun-worshipping Simon look pale and wan.

New York paper, The Village Voice, called her face “too crazy for the close-up” while the LA Times said her “gaunt appearance was so off-putting it might have cost her the slot DeGeneres eventually won”. Harsh, but her arms were so skinny you just wanted to force-feed her a burger.

Vickie B did, however, bond well with fellow female judge Kara DioGuardi and they both took a shine to one of the charming male auditionees and told another off for being rude.

They even had a laugh together when one hopeful identified Posh as “David Beckham’s wife”.

Kara giggled to Victoria: ‘That’s all you are honey, sorry’.

Needless to say, that auditionee received a resounding NO.

American Idol’s Talent’s Got Britain’s X-Factor…

Just as I reported, um… a while back… Simon Cowell is definitely going to be bringing X-Factor to the US in 2011, which means he will almost certainly be saying ta-ta to his judging spot on American Idol after this season.

Now I’m hearing Simon has been negotiating with Fox execs this week, who are desperate to keep him on Idol, but apparently Simon has already made up his mind to leave and concentrate on X-Factor USA. If any of these execs actually watch the show, they’ll know that Simon’s decisions are usually final!

Cowell produces and judges X-Factor in the UK whereas on Idol he’s simply a judge. Bringing X-Factor over will mean more control (and more money) for the sharp-tongued mogul.

And while Fox are trying to assure audiences that Idol will go on without Simon, everyone knows that Simon is Idol and it wouldn’t be the same without him. Ellen’s going to have to make a big impression to convince me that it will still work if Simon goes.

Luckily, we’ll still be able to get our Cowell fix when X-Factor starts in autumn 2011!

Is Si’s Saying Sye to American Idol?

The thought of Simon Cowell leaving American Idol is as unimaginable as Randy removing the word ‘dawg’ from his vocabulary but apparently Simon’s quitting the show in 2010.

I’m hearing Tony Cowell, Simon’s brother, is fuelling rumours that he’s leaving the show to work on an American version of the wildly popular British show X-Factor and that this series of Idol will be his last.

Tony, 59, let the info slip during a podcast of his weekly radio show, The Fame Game, but obviously realised it was a blunder because his comments were later removed.

He said: “Meanwhile, Simon prepares for a new season of ‘Idol,’ or should I say his last season of ‘Idol’ – OK, I will say it, because it is.

Susan Boyle’s New Single Wild Horses

I must admit, I am guilty of being a bit mean about Susan Boyle in the past, however I just listened to her forthcoming single and was really quite taken aback…

Granted this mushy ballad – a cover of the 1971 Rolling Stones album track Wild Horses might not be for everyone’s ears, but I was slightly touched when I heard it first thing this morning.

The singing sensation, dubbed ‘SuBo’ who was mobbed like a superstar on Saturday night when she jetted into Los Angeles, is all set to perform the song on America’s Got Talent this week and according to sources, it will be an absolute show-stopper.

One source said, “Her opening performance to promote her album will be in front of 20 million viewers – so the stakes could hardly be higher than that.” He added, “But her cover of Wild Horses is sensational and people will be blown away.”

I’m told Simon Cowell is a very happy man right now indeed!
