Not So Heartbroken Then, Eh Carey?!?!

Posted on October 27th, 2010 at 2:34 am by

Bar steward, two for the road please…

Well, for  An Education star Carey Mulligan, it seemed like only yesterday her and Wall Street 2‘s costar Shia Labeouf were celebrating one year together.

After the recent demise of that relationship and Carey’s admission that maybe it was time to go back to the U.K, up popped pictures on the 19th of her leaving her fine (and I mean fine) hotel, The Best Western, with none other than the believed to be up and comer, actor Tom Sturridge (Pirate Radio’s own Young Carl). Curious?

Cut to: Tuesday the 26th, Chateau Marmont Hotel – Carey Mulligan and Tom Sturridge trying to hide in the back of an exiting taxi, after the Annual Hollywood Awards Gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel at which Mulligan was in attendance Tuesday night.

The two actors met up at Chateau Marmont for a bit of a rendezvous, um, apparently… Not much is known about the conversation but maybe…just maybe…the two are ‘friends’ trying to console the voids left in their hearts by this crazy little thing called love.

Now for the sigh of relief… Robert Pattinson must be relieved in knowing that his love interest, Kristen Stewart is no longer rumored to be romantically tied with his blood brother Sturridge and Stewart’s co star in a yet to be completed film adaption of Kerouac novel, “On the Road” thanks to drinks with Ms. Mulligan.

Michael Douglas Attends Wall Street 2 Premiere, Despite Throat Cancer!

Posted on September 21st, 2010 at 3:08 pm by

Only weeks after announcing his real-life battle with stage-four throat cancer, Michael Douglas, who won an Oscar in 1988 for his powerful portrayal of Gordon Gekko (the greedy insider trader) in the original Wall Street movie, did not let his ailments stop him from facing the press and the crowds at the recent premiere of the sequel Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps.

Accompanied by wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, a smiling Douglas joined co-stars Josh Brolin, Shia LaBeouf, Carey Mulligan, Susan Surandon, and director Oliver Stone on the red carpet at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City.

Although Douglas did not give any interviews, his co-star LaBeouf, who plays Gekko’s potential son-in-law in the film, said of the star: ”Douglas is a legend. He’s the face they’ll paint on walls. He’s an American institution, as is Oliver. These are masters of craft and just to be around them you hope something rubs off on you. They’re incredible men, really.”

Lebeouf added: “I think the biggest thing I came away [with] from this is how great they are as men. I knew they were great artists but they’re good dudes.

Regarding Douglas’s appearance at the premiere, speaking with ABCnews.com, director Stone stated: “[Douglas] doesn’t have to be [here,] he’s coming out because he wants to and he wants to help the film and he believes in it. People care about him. It’s hard. He’s courageous and I really admire him for it.

Wall Street 2 opens in theaters across North America on Friday, September 24th, the day before Douglas’s 66th birthday and his wife’s 41st.

Our greatest sympathies are conveyed to Michael and his family during this challenging time. Get well soon Michael!

Michael Douglas will Lose Voice due to Throat Cancer?!?!

Posted on August 19th, 2010 at 5:10 pm by

Michael Douglas has been told by doctors that they expect him to fully recover from having throat cancer; however, the actor has also been warned that he may never be able to speak again if the first line of treatment does not work. Douglas’s diagnosis was only made known to the public recently. The 65-year-old is reportedly going to be treated with an aggressive combination of radiation and chemotherapy this week in New York, which, according to experts, is only done to patients with more advanced cancer.

If this therapy does not stop the disease, Douglas will most likely have to undergo surgery, including a partial or complete laryngectomy, that would leave him with a distorted voice or no voice at all. Referring to his fight against cancer, Douglas stated: “I am very optimistic.”

The actor has cancelled all work related commitments for the next two months, including any promotional activities for his upcoming film Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, which also features Shia LaBeouf, Charlie Sheen, Carey Mulligan, Josh Brolin, Susan Sarandon, and was directed by Oliver Stone. Instead, Douglas will be spending more time with his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and their two children.

Hopefully Michael will win his battle against cancer and be able to move on with his life without losing his voice.
