Unknown Actress Rooney Mara to Play The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo!

After months of rumours and speculation about which actress will play the title character, also known as Lisbeth Salander, in the Hollywood remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the role has finally been assigned to a relatively unknown American actress called Rooney Mara. Reportedly, Mara beat out a number of more established actresses for the part, including Scarlet Johansson, Ellen Page, Natalie Portman, Carey Mulligan, and Emma Watson.
Mara will co-star alongside James Bond thespian Daniel Craig in the film and most likely in two sequels, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest. The rising star can next be seen in the film called The Social Network, about the founders of Facebook, along with new Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo begins shooting next month in Sweden and is scheduled to be released in December of 2011.
Congratulations to Rooney for seizing one of the most sought after jobs in Hollywood!
David Tennant to Play The Hulk?!?!?

Various sources, including the Los Angeles Times, are reporting that former Doctor Who actor David Tennant is in talks to play Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk, in The Avengers movie expected out in May 2012. If the reports are true, Tennant would be joining Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Scarlet Johansson as Black Widow.
This rumor about Tennant spread after Marvel Studios announced earlier in the week that Edward Norton, who portrayed the green giant in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, would not be reprising the role for the upcoming Joss Whedon-directed project. Marvel is expected to officially declare who will play The Hulk this summer at Comic-Con in San Diego.
Is it just me or does the idea of Tennant playing Bruce Banner / The Hulk sound equally as bad as Andrew Garfield playing Peter Parker / Spider-Man? A skinny pale British actor playing a muscular American superhero… a perfect match? I don’t think so!
RPatz and KStew’s Best Awkward Public Kiss!

You would think Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart could kiss each other with ease by now, but sadly that is not the case.
After publicly denying and dodging questions about their relationship for months, the two actors finally could not avoid publicly displaying their affection at the recent MTV Movie Awards in LA.
When the young Twilight couple appeared on stage together to accept the Best Kiss award they were compelled to reenact their award-winning smooch for all to see. The only trouble was that their live kiss was far from a “Best Kiss” (awkward!) under any circumstances and especially not on that night as it was upstaged by Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson’s girl-on-girl lip-lock.
It appears, even for the extremely famous, kissing on command in front of millions of people can be an uncomfortable experience… or RPatz and KStew are just seriously lacking in the sexual chemistry department if two straight girls can snog each other more passionately than the Twilight stars.
Smells Like RPatz is leaving Ed Cullen behind…?

RPatz is going to be playing Kurt Cobain in a new biopic about the troubled star’s life.
The muso actor is Courtney Love’s top choice to be the Nirvana singer, and she wants Scarlett Johanssen to play her (well if you get free reign you might as well be ambitious!)
Rob follows on the heels of fellow Twilight star Kristin Stewart into the rock biopic world. She did a fab job as Joan Jett in The Runaways, which came out this month and it definitely made me take her more seriously as an actress (let’s face it, Twilight is hardly ‘stretching’ their range!)
Courtney is in touch with top director David Fincher (who directed Se7en and Fight Club) about getting the project off the ground.
A source told The Sun today: “This is a big money deal for Courtney.
“She has agreed to the film on condition that she gets to decide the main aspects of the project including director, casting, screenplay and music.
“Robert has been calling and emailing her non-stop. She has been a bit wound up by his manners, but he is her number one choice to play Kurt.
“She is adamant Scarlett will play her. Scarlett is friendly with Frances Bean, her daughter with Kurt.”
And the specifics of getting into the character shouldn’t be too hard for Rob – he admitted in an interview that he had quite poor hygiene when it came to washing his hair, so he shouldn’t have any trouble imitating Kurt’s grungey do!
