Russell’s Brand New Pad!

Playing Arthur in the remake of the 1981 classic is one thing, but now funny man Russell Brand wants to live like the spoiled drunk too, after splashing out $2.7m on a NYC love nest for him and his fiancé, singer Katy Perry.
My spies inform me that Perry has fallen in love with the stylish 1500-square-foot penthouse Manhattan’s trendy TriBeca district. The 2-bedroom pied-à-terre, boasts a rooftop terrace with stunning views overlooking New York City. Sources say that the couple are planning on using the apt as their crash pad during their hectic schedules, which often takes them to the Big Apple.
Ok, so the original Arthur’s luxury 5th Avenue pad might have been considerably more large than Russell’s new TriBeca abode, but if you ask me scruffy faced Russell’s remake of the hit movie which starred Dudley Moore and Liza Minnelli, due for release next year, won’t be nearly as big in my opinion, either… Ouch, sorry Russell!

Holy Crap Brandman, scruffy Russell almost looks half sexy!
As Katy Perry gets attention from the O.C’s Josh Kloss on the set of her new video, her other half Russell Brand was getting attention of a different kind when he stepped out in this hilarious rubber Batman outfit in New York, while filming scenes for his new movie Arthur.
Arthur is remake of the 1981 film that starred Dudley Moore and Liza Minnelli about a drunken socialite who has to marry well-to-do women so he can inherit his family’s fortune.
I heard the funnyman had everyone in hysterics, especially as he peeled the suit down to his waist to reveal his true identity – a rather less than impressive ab-less version.
I’m also told Brand quite enjoyed dressing up as the caped crusader and even sent fiancée Katy a pic of it, that eventually ended up on his Twitter page (pictured).
Leaving me to wonder if Russell is taking the outfit home with him …? And does Katy have a Batgirl suit on order …? And just who’ll be playing Robin … Um, Josh Kloss?!?! Watch this space!
A New Brand of Arthur???

The word is that funnyman Russell Brand, is set to star as ‘trust fund’ drunk Arthur, with Dame Helen Mirren playing his longtime faithful nanny - Sir John Gielgud played the part in the original 80’s classic, with Dudley Moore in the title role.
Now, I’m not a big fan of Hollywood movie remakes; I can’t say I’ve ever really liked one of them… So after hearing about this one, I think you’ll agree, it sounds like very bad casting!
And it’s anyone’s guess who’ll be playing Liza Minnelli’s character, Linda Marolla? No, please don’t say Katy Perry!
Arthur may have been a messy drunk, but he still had class (and short hair)… Unless Brand chops off his wiry mane, takes a good ol’ scrub in the bath and goes for a complete image overhaul, I can’t ever see the public taking kindly to this idea.
Sorry Russ’, but some things are best left well alone… Arthur being one of them!
Leona and J-Hud Join Forces for SATC 2 Soundtrack!

One of the lates
t Tinseltown-tales is that singers Leona Lewis, winner of Britain’s The X Factor, and Jennifer Hudson, American Idol finalist, will be hitting the recording studio together for the upcoming Sex and the City movie sequel.
Whether or not Hudson will reprise her role of Louise in addition to her vocal contribution has yet to be confirmed, but this news certainly can’t hurt chances.
Other female singers rumored to appear in the sexy sequel include: Vic-Bore-ia Beckham, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Bette Midler, and Liza Minnelli. Perhaps some of these divas will contribute to the soundtrack alongside Leona and J-Hud.
The idea of a Lewis-Hudson duet is literally music to my ears, especially when compared to Snoop Dogg’s recently planned collaboration with Susan Boyle, which is more like, I’m sorry to say, finger nails on a chalkboard to my ears.
