‘Murdoch’ the Movie… More A-List Names in the Frame as Scandal Grows!
Posted on July 18th, 2011 at 6:58 am by

As I reported two weeks ago, major plans are currently underway in London to turn the story of the defunct redtop News of the World into a big screen epic, with top producers approaching A-list stars to play key figures in the proposed production…
So far, names such as James Mcavoy as former editor Andy Coulson, Timothy Spall as Clive Goodman and even Tom Wilkinson as Rupert Murdoch have all been added to a wish list of actors if the film receives its funding.
And as the story grows other characters are being written in, such as Rupert’s son James Murdoch and Metropolitan police commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson, who resigned this week in the wake of revelations that he received a £12k spa break where News of the World hacking suspect Neil Wallis was a PR consultant.
Now producers desperately want Nicole Kidman to play former News International CEO Rebekah Brooks, originally Gillian Anderson’s name had been touted around, but it’s clear a name like Kidman’s would get this off the ground a lot quicker, according to insiders.
Jonny Lee Miller is also a firm favorite of the top producing team to play James Murdoch, with Jim Broadbent as a potential Sir Paul Stephenson.
My source at the well-known Oscar winning film company told me: “This story has so much mileage, much of it still has to unfold, our writers are working around the clock to get a first draft finished asap. Nicole Kidman’s name came up last week; she’s a heavyweight actress who could get this film the green light with no problem. She would be superb playing Rebekah Brooks!”
Though I can’t name the team behind this exciting project (ahem, yet), I’m sure if Kidman signs on you will all hear all about it… but remember you heard it here first!
This is a very exciting project indeed and I reckon it deserves to be made into a film. Unbelievably, each day it keeps on growing and it has certainly become bigger than any scandal Mazher Mahmood has uncovered in the past that’s for sure (scoff)… Long live the ‘fake’ Sheikh!
Watch this space for more updates and inside scoop on the proposed movie’s progress… I know all involved, and its sure to raise a few eyebrows among the Chipping Norton set!
Jude Literally Drove Ex-wife Insane!?!?
Posted on August 16th, 2010 at 6:58 am by
Jude Law‘s ex-wife, Sadie Frost, recently revealed that her six-year marriage to Law pushed her to check into a psychiatric ward. Frost writes about the experience in her book called Crazy Days, which Law attempted to prevent from going public. A month before the book was to be published, the actor went so far as to sue Frost in the High Court in order to have certain passages about the marriage and their three children removed. The two eventually settled.
Frost first met the would-be star in 1993 when he was 19 and she was 26. At the time, he was impoverished and had to barrow money for bus fares and she was a married mother of one. Still, Frost found herself drawn to Law, “who was living hand-to-mouth between acting jobs.”
As Law became famous and began living a Hollywood lifestyle and as the two began having children, Frost became increasingly depressed. She explains that as the couple began to socialize with elite celebrities such as Jonny Lee Miller, Ewan McGregor, and Kate Moss, she began to sink into a hole of despair and insecurity. She sought medical attention and was diagnosed with post-natal depression. Frost was medicated and about her situation said: “The more I worried about my condition, the more self-obsessed I became and the less attention I gave to Jude.”
After her condition did not improve, Law’s ex-wife was admitted to a California psychiatric institution. Regarding the facility, Frost said: “The psychiatric ward was as bad as I’d imagined: plastic sheets on the bed and bars on the windows. ” Frost eventually moved in with a friend from London and by this time knew her marriage to Jude Law was over.
Watch out Sienna! Not only did Jude cheat on you, but also literally drove his ex-wife crazy… not exactly great husband material.
Jonny Lee Miller Joins Dexter!

Woo-hoo! Great news for Dexter fans, British actor Jonny Lee Miller is joining the cast of Showtime’s hit serial killer series next season.
We are not quite sure yet what Jonny’s character will be, but we have been informed it’s a six-episode guest stint playing “a mysterious man who ends up tangled in a storyline with Julia Stiles.” Stiles, another favorite of mine, signed on for ten episodes to play “a mysterious young woman who forms a unique relationship with Dexter.”
Dexter stars Michael C. Hall as a “complicated and conflicted blood-spatter expert for the Miami police department who moonlights as a serial killer.”
This will be Miller’s first return to American television since playing the title role in ABC’s short-lived legal dramedy Eli Stone that ended in 2009.
Personally, I still can’t believe the “Trinity Killer” played by John Lithgow in the last season did away with Dexter’s wife Rita, even though her character really annoyed me at times, I’m hoping her death was just one of Dexter’s bad dreams…
My Night with the “Original” Sienna!

Last night I attended the birthday bash of gorgeous British actress Sienna Guillory. Sienna has featured in many films over the years from The Time Machine to Eragon, her star is constantly on the rise.
The Party, an informal gathering held at Hollywood hotspot, Bar Deluxe on Cahuenga Boulevard was in full swing by the time I got there. I never like arriving to places on my own, so I brought along my trusty pal, hair stylist Barry Halkides and his good friend, Charles Neal.
