Daniel Craig Says Skyfall Will be ‘the Best Bond Ever!’

James Bond is regarded as one of the best fictional characters in cinema history, and 2012 will see the release of its 23rd film, Skyfall.
There is always a lot of anticipation surrounding the release of any new Bond flick, but when its leading man Daniel Craig, says the next installment is BETTER than Casino Royale, then it certainly brings the film fanatics expectations to a whole new level.
Martin Campbell’s Casino Royale is one of the best James Bond movies of all time. Ask any Bond fan and it will top every one of their lists when it comes to being the greatest.
When released back in 2006, it was the highest grossing Bond film ever, making just under $600 million at the box office. It set the bar very high for future Bond films because not only was Bond back being cool and sexy again but also the makers took him back to his origins and made him a much darker character… So to say Craig’s statement was ‘bold’ is a bit of an understatement!
In a recent interview, the actor tells Empire magazine that he expects the Sam Mendes film to be ‘better!
He said, “Sam Mendes has lived with Bond his whole life, he grew up with Bond in the same way I did.”
He goes on to say; “We (Craig and Mendes) have the exact same reference points, we both like the same Bond movies, and we both like the same bits in the same Bond movies we like.”
Sounds like this pairing really hit it off, and if they can recreate their joint passions on the big screen then I reckon we are certainly in for a mouth-watering visual treat.
It’s just a shame we have to wait nearly a year for it. Oh well, good things come to those how wait!
New James Bond Film Revs Up, Literally!

As actor Daniel Craig and the production crew prepare to film a high-speed car chase scene in Central London’s Smithfield Market in less than a month, development of the next James Bond movie appears to be speeding up.
The action scene will reportedly depict 007 switching from driving a Range Rover to a Jaguar while both automobiles are moving.
The London location shoot is scheduled to take place on November 7th and will mark the beginning of photography of the 23rd Bond film. Location filming is also expected to take place in Scotland, South Africa, and Turkey. A traditional kick-off press conference will be held in late November when shooting on sound stages at Pinewood Studios commences.
The majority of the principal cast has been confirmed, including Javier Bardem‘s starring role as the film’s antagonist. One role that has not been cast yet is that of the requisite seductive Bond girl. Reportedly, director Sam Mendes and the casting team have narrowed down a list of Asian actresses being considered for the role and 32 year-old Chinese actress Tang Wei is at the top of the list. Wei has previously been seen in the films Lust-Caution, Late Autumn, and Crossing Hennessy.
The 23rd Bond film, rumored to be titled Skyfall, is expected to be released in November of 2012.
Rachel Weisz Glows as Daniel Craig Mopes!

Newlyweds Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig were recently observed leaving the School of Visual Arts Theatre in New York where they attended a promotional event for Weisz’s film The Whistleblower. Weisz was eye-catching in a short form-fitting red dress, while Craig appeared gloomy in a casual grey t-shirt, jeans, and a baseball cap.
Although one would expect the James Bond actor to seem overjoyed to be in the honeymoon phase of his marriage to a beautiful movie star, maybe he was not in a celebratory mood because of the fact that his latest film, Cowboys and Aliens, was not as profitable as he wanted it to be.
Hopefully, Daniel’s next big film, the American remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, will live up to the great expectations established for that project. The highly anticipated film is scheduled to be released on December 21st, 2011. Good luck Daniel!
Now That’s a Secret Service…Bond Star Weds Rachel Weisz!

Talk about secret service, that’s secret wedding service in this case, as James Bond star Daniel Craig has married his stunning girlfriend Rachel Weisz in a hush-hush ceremony in New York State… How verrrrry 007, indeed!
In fact, it was so top secret there were only FOUR guests invited. Daniel’s 18-year-old daughter Ella and Rachel’s son Henry, along with two close family friends.
This is the first marriage for Weisz and the second for the James Bond star. The British couple started dating while on the set of new thriller Dream House last year but apart from a few rare sightings together; the romance has been kept very private.
A source close to the couple said, “Daniel and Rachel insisted on having a small, quiet wedding. They are madly in love and couldn’t wait to be husband and wife but they wanted minimum fuss. They had a couple of friends as witnesses and their children from previous relationships and that was it.”
When you know you’re with the right person…you just know! So why delay such a happy occasion? This is great news for the lovely couple and we wish them all the happiness together!
Daniel Craig Takes Rachel Weisz on a Louis Vuitton Shopping Spree!

On screen he plays secret agent and ladies man, James Bond, and now it seems Daniel Craig has a ‘license to thrill’ the ladies in real life too, as he took his new leading lady, Rachel Weisz, on a shopping spree in London’s Mayfair…Every girl’s (and boy’s) dream, surely?
The couple tried to avoid being seen together, however it looks like they didn’t try hard enough as they were spotted leaving the Louis Vuitton store and getting into his waiting BMW…Not quite 007′s Aston Martin but I guess it’ll do.
Rachel and Daniel have been dating since last December after Weisz split from her film director fiancé Darren Aronofsky after nine years together. They still remain close as they have a four-year-old son together, Henry. But Craig may have to keep a close eye on his new lady as the British actress in currently filming her latest movie, 360, with newly single and fellow Brit, Jude Law!
The beautiful Weisz was seen enjoying a number of passionate kisses with co-star Law during filming only last week… It all sounds like a major drama in itself doesn’t it? I’m pretty sure it’s all very innocent and beside who in their right mind would try taking on James Bond! I know I wouldn’t!
Bond is Back!

James Bond fans rejoice! One of the longest running film franchises in history will continue! MGM has set an official release date of November 9th, 2012 for a new James Bond movie, as first reported by Deadline Hollywood.
Perhaps the best part of the news is that actor Daniel Craig will once again carry the license to kill. As SBGLA previously reported, Kate Winslet’s ex, Sam Mendes, will direct the film. The screenplay for the 23rd Bond movie has reportedly already been written, but the plot is being kept confidential.
Principal production of the action flick is scheduled to commence toward the end of 2011. In light of MGM’s restructuring after its merger with Spyglass Entertainment, the film does not yet have a distributor. It looks as though four Hollywood studios, Fox, Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., and Sony will enter into a bidding war for the distribution rights.
This will possibly be Craig’s final outing as 007 so hopefully it will be a memorable film. It sounds like it is time for Q to get all of his best gadgets ready to go!
Kate Moves Her Kids to London to be with Sam Mendes and James Bond!

Kate Winslet is moving her son and daughter from New York City to live in London to be closer to James Bond… the next James Bond movie that is. The Brit actress recently revealed that her ex-hubby Sam Mendes is still attached to direct the 23rd Bond film and that she wants him to be able to spend time with her kids while he works on the spy flick, as reported by the Daily Mail Newspaper.
Winslet said: “Sam is doing the next Bond film, all being well, and we’ll all be in England if that happens. It’s such a massive commitment for him and it’s not fair for him to commute backwards and forwards to New York from London. It would be impossible. The children will be there with me.”
The Academy Award winning actress, who was directed by Mendes in the film Revolutionary Road, added that she and Mendes remain close friends, but that there are no plans for her to appear in character alongside 007. Other than the intended release date of November of 2012, Winslet’s disclosure is the first fairly legitimate news to surface about the next Bond flick since MGM, the distributer of the Bond franchise, finally merged with Spyglass Entertainment earlier this year.
With the early stages of development of the untitled movie rumored to be underway, it appears that filming is likely to begin toward the end of next year at Pinewood film studios, which would allow production to wrap in time for the intended release date. Although Daniel Craig has said he is planning on portraying James Bond again, nothing has been confirmed.
Kate moving her family across an ocean to be with Sam is an impressive show of loyalty. Maybe the two artists will rekindle their love for each other after all. Either way, I think Sam should use his apparent influential friendship with Kate to convince her to reconsider the idea of being a Bond girl. Sam probably knows better than anyone that Kate could bring the perfect mix of glamour, class, and dramatic angst to the cut-throat world of James Bond. It would be the most titanic Bond film ever!
Actress Rachel Weisz and Director Darren Aronofsky Call It Quits…

British actress Rachel Weisz, and top director Darren Aronofsky, have called it quits after nine years together.
The star was spotted putting on a brave face earlier today while out and about in New York, the first time since announcing the split.
TMZ.com quoting unnamed sources, said earlier today that Weisz has been ‘linked’ to James Bond actor Daniel Craig, her co-star in the upcoming thriller Dream House for months. This could not be confirmed. However, sources have also told SBGLA that Rachel is said to be ‘smitten’ with Craig.
Reps for Aronofsky and Weisz have divulged that the two have been separated for quite a few months and that not only will they seek joint custody of their four-year-old son Henry Chance, but also committed to raising him together in New York.
Back in January, Rachel who won a ‘best supporting actress’ Oscar for the 2005 movie The Constant Gardener, told the ladies of The View that she felt it was time to tie the knot. She said: “It’s just a feeling, I know it’s a funny thing.”
During a Redbook interview in 2009, Rachel confessed,” Darren and I are completely committed to ‘until death do us part,’ although we haven’t made it official with the paperwork yet…
It’s not for any political reason or that we’re waiting for this or for that, but maybe one day we will have an official ceremony. I don’t think balance is something you get from someone else; it’s something women have to find from within.”
She added: “For me, finding balance is still a work in progress. Darren provides the foundation, but I’m still figuring out my own juggling act.”
Sadly now, this quiet and professional relationship has hit the skids, it seems… Hopefully little Henry isn’t the one caught up in middle of the split-drama! We wish Rach’ and Dazza the best of luck however, on all fronts.
