This week James Bond bosses have ruled out Tom Hiddleston as the next 007 because they say, he’s “a bit too smug”. I couldn’t agree more!
The Night Manager actor had been the hot favourite to replace Daniel Craig in the iconic spy role so this must come as a big disappointment for the British star.
According to insiders, a string of “embarrassing” stunts seem to have cost him the job,
A pal of Bond producer Barbara Broccoli revealed: “Barbara doesn’t like Tom, he’s a bit too smug and not tough enough for Bond.”
She was also apparently unimpressed with his fling with Taylor Swift and his Golden Globes acceptance speech.
There the star-studded audience cringed as the British actor told a story about aid workers in South Sudan had wanted to “say hello (to him) because they had binged-watched The Night Manager”.
Hiddleston later apologised that his speech was “inelegantly expressed” – but Broccoli’s pal said it had made him seem “too fame hungry and shallow” to play Bond.
But whoever takes over the 007 role may have to wait. Craig, who has starred in the last four Bond movies, is in talks with Broccoli about a fifth – despite earlier saying he would rather “slash my wrists” than reprise the role.
When asked who might take over, he also said: “Look, I don’t give a f***.”
But now Broccoli is said to have talked him into staying on as Bond after working with him on a recent New York stage production of Othello.
A source said: “They have a script and will go into production as soon as Daniel is ready to commit.”
Daniel is still my hot favorite to return to the role. I hope he does!

Oscar winning Brit Sam Smith may have all but vanished into obscurity over the past few years but he is just months away from an epic return after his management imposed hiatus.
The 24-year-old singing sensation has been on a very long break since winning an Oscar for the Best Original Song for James Bond theme tune The Writing’s On The Wall will release his long awaited second album armed with some new songs that are sure to break our hearts all over again this September before embarking on a mammoth world tour. Oo-er!
But The Lonely Hour star’s absence wasn’t due to his own accord, but instead a marketing ploy by his management.
“Sam is desperate to get back out there again,” a close source said.
“His album is due out at the end of September and he can’t wait.
“The initial plan was for him to take just a year out as his album sales were still great overseas but then his management asked him to take another year off.
“He wasn’t keen on the idea but understood why.”
Talking about the new record, they added: “He’s been working really hard and has more than enough tracks ready to go.
“It’s just going to be working out which songs make the final cut now.”
But that’s not all; the vocal powerhouse is apparently hitting the road.
“The tour is penciled in to kick off at the start of February 2018 and will take him all over the world,” the insider explained.
“Sam has found it really tough being away from music and just wants to be on stage again.”
A rep for Sam Smith has declined to comment on the story.

Hurrah! Let the joyous news be spread…
Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi is quitting his role in the famous science fiction series, telling the BBC, “it’s time to go.”
The Scotts Timelord will step down as the 12th actor to lead the British sci-fi Doctor Who at the end of the year. Oo-er!
The 55-year-old star started as the 12th reincarnation of the much-loved time lord in 2014 for the series’ eighth season.
In an interview on BBC Radio 2, he said: “it’s time to move on.” Capaldi, the 12th actor to play the Doctor, an alien Time Lord who travels through space and time is expected to premiere his last season in April.
He added: “But I’m still Doctor Who. I’ve got a lot to do – we’re doing epic stuff. I’m not done yet.”
Capaldi is the fourth actor to play the enigmatic hero of time and space since the BBC relaunched the series in 2005. He followed in the footsteps of Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, and Matt Smith.
And Capaldi isn’t the only person stepping down from the cult TV show this year. Showrunner Steven Moffat will be replaced by Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch) for the next season.
The Doctor is a member of an alien race of being called Timelords who travel through time and space in a Tardis, a vehicle shaped like a blue, telephone booth-like police-box.
The character is recast every few season as part of a quirk in which the character dies, then is regenerated in a new body.
“Doctor Who,” first broadcast in 1963, is one of the BBC’s most popular programs around the world.
Don’t get me wrong… I think Capaldi is a great actor, he was just not the perfect Doctor Who. He was excellent as John Frobisher, a civil servant in 2009’s Torchwood: Children of Earth. In my opinion, he would have faired far better playing the The Master. But then Moffat got it wrong everytime!
Speculation began Tuesday about Capaldi’s replacement, candidates Richard Ayoade (er, NO), Rory Kinnear (Hmmm, not bad), Miranda Hart (er, NOOOOO), and David Harewood (NO, great in CW’s Supergirl, but NOT the Doctor!).
My favorite is Ben Whishaw — who plays Q in the James Bond 007 films – please give him the job!

It seems that every actor in the Western Hemisphere is panting to be the next James Bond. But there’s one actor apparently more desperate than the rest… Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan.
According to The Sun, the “Anthropoid” star – Jamie made the playful comment about the coveted role during a unique interaction with Q Radio breakfast host Stephen Clements.
Clements had penned a version of rapper Eminem’s Stan featuring the likes of Eamonn Holmes, Chipmunk and Arlene Foster in a bid to get Jamie’s attention. It worked!
The Irish actor was happy to respond as the challenge had been a tool for the pair to raise money for TinyLife charity.
Jamie – who is famous for playing Christian Grey – replied with his own rap verse as he quipped: “Dear Stephen, I’m sorry it took me so long to respond – I’ve been running around the world trying to convince people I’m James Bond.”
The search for the next Bond began after the current James Bond, Daniel Craig, has refused to contact the studios to confirm — or deny — his participation in the next film. This stalemate has forced the studios to look for a replacement.
There are various actors being screened tested and the race is on to choose the one best to portray the famous spy. Actors like Idris Alba, Aidan Turner, Jack Hutson, Tom Hardy, James Nortton, Tom Hiddleston, and Ryan Gosling.
Producer Barbara Brocolli has conducted auditions for the role vacated by Craig. However, as of this time, the film outfit has not announced the lucky actor. There have been several actors who auditioned but all of them were turned down.
A source said: “Daniel and MGM are currently at a stalemate with him having not spoken to them about Bond.
“They have offered a bigger wage deal, and asked about his filming availability to his reps in 2017, but as of yet they have not spoken to Daniel.”
Meanwhile, the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey – Fifty Shades Darker will be released in time for the Valentine’s Day, February 10. Trailers were released to tease the fans what is going to happen in “Fifty Shades of Grey.” There is a hint of a possible wedding and tragedy as the trailers show a stalking woman following Christian Grey and Anastasia Steel.

British star Tom Hardy has described the aches and pains after roles such as Bane in ‘Dark Knight Rises‘, revealing that constantly changing his physique for films has really taken its toll. Oo-er!
Speaking to The Daily Beast, the ‘Mad Max‘ actor said that his new mobster role might mean he’ll have to pack on the pounds, explaining: “It’s not the classic Al Capone that you necessarily envision with the silhouette.
“I don’t want to give too much away about it, but there’s definitely a transformation with that role.
“I don’t know if it’s as drastic as Bane. I’ve probably damaged my body too much. I’m only little. If I keep putting on weight I’ll collapse like a house of cards under too much pressure.”
Tom, who recently discussed his chances of playing James Bond, blamed the fluctuations between different weights for his new ‘aches and pains’.
And while the Londoner admits he got away with an extreme body-altering regime in his youth, he says it’s harder now he’s got ‘achier’.
“I’m certainly a bit achier than I used to be… I certainly have joints that click that probably shouldn’t click, you know what I mean?
He added: “As you get into your 40s you have to be more mindful of the rapid training, packing on a lot of weight and getting physical, and then not having enough time to keep training because you’re busy filming, so your body is swimming in two different directions at the same time.”
I would agree with that Tom, from one 40 (ahem) something year-old to another!

Chat show host James Corden has branded Pierce Brosnan the rudest celebrity he’s ever met.
The 38-year-old British funnyman who hosts The Late Late Show with James Corden has described the 63-year-old actor as a “rude man” after the ‘Die Another Day’ actor – who was the fifth star to play the iconic role of James Bond in the 007 franchise – pushed him at a U2 concert and then failed to even acknowledge the ‘Gavin & Stacey’ actor. Oo-er!
In a game of ‘Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts’ with Khloe Kardashian in which the pair had to eat an array of unusual treats if they failed to answer a question, Corden was asked to name a famous person who was impolite to him or to forfeit and drink bird saliva.
I know, gross, right?
Speaking on the program, James said: “There was someone. But I don’t know if we’re going to try and book him on the show.
“I don’t know if I can drink it.”
However, the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star urged James to “screw him” and not invite the mystery person onto his show if he was disrespectful, but to name and shame instead.
She said: “Why would you want to book him if he’s rude. Screw him, and tell us the name.”
To which James blurted out: “Piers Brosnan. I don’t think he’s a rude man, he just happened to be [to me].
“I went to see U2 and I was there with my friend Louis and his wife, and my wife, and Pierce Brosnan was with some friends and they left halfway through the gig to go off, and we left the space [for them].
“And then they had been gone quite a long and Bono was like right there on this sort of big runway in the middle of the show.
“So me and my wife moved into this area, and literally, I’ve never felt anything like it, this arm went on here and just pushed me out the way. And I looked at him, and he didn’t even glance at me and he just moved back into his area.
“Maybe he was drunk,” questioned Khloe.
“Maybe he’s just a bit f***ing rude,” replied James.
However, when James was asked to reveal the guest with the worst vocals on ‘Carpool Karaoke‘, he opted out and decided to munch on chicken feet instead. Yuk!
He said, “I just think it’s so unfair to answer this. I mean I could tell you who it is,” before nibbling into the clawed talons.”

It has been a little more than a year Spectre hit theaters and since then, the story of the next movie in the James Bond franchise has been a revolving door of confusion.
According to sources, James Bond bosses are said to be ‘panicking’ over the proposed 2018 film as they’ve not yet got a lead actor… Oo-er!
Producers are hoping Daniel Craig will return to the role but he’s yet to confirm whether he wants to take part.
MGM executives are reportedly at a “stalemate” with the 48-year-old star – with little contact between the camps.
An insider said: “Daniel and MGM are currently at a stalemate with him having not spoken to them about Bond.
“They have offered a bigger wage deal, and asked about his filming availability to his reps in 2017, but as yet they have not spoken to Daniel.
“They want Bond 25 out in October 2018, but currently they have no Bond, film dates or knowledge of when that will change.
“Daniel’s commitment is also a key part of whether Sony Pictures will come in to co-finance the film. So much is hanging in the air – and no-one knows.”
Sony and MGM have had a very successful partnership during the Daniel Craig era of Bond films, with 2012’s Skyfall being the high watermark of that partnership.
The movie was met with a ton of praise from fans and critics and was the first movie in the franchise to ever cross $1 billion at the box office. Spectre was a bit of a different story.
It was much more divisive among fans and critics and didn’t quite match the heights of ‘Skyfall’ at the box office, but still brought in $880 million. But perhaps more importantly, the shoot was exhausting and took a toll on Craig.
In an interview very shortly after the movie wrapped, he famously said that he would rather “slash his wrists” than do another James Bond movie. However, he more recently walked back those comments and seemed more interested in potentially returning.
The actor is currently working with Barbara Broccoli – executive director of the Bond films – on Broadway in New York where he is starring in Othello.

Henry Cavill may be Superman, but IRL (in real life), he’s just a regular guy — albeit, a very, very in shape regular guy…
The Man of Steel star covers the September issue of Men’s Fitness, discussing how he keeps his work-life balance as well as balance in the gym, which he frequently documents on Instagram.
“I was very fit, then I was not very fit, then I was very fit again, then I was not very fit,” he said. “Now that I’m fit again, I think I’ve found a comfortable balance, which is enjoyable because we all like to go out for drinks and have pizza and have dinners and all the nice things in life, and not being a complete gym psycho.”
In fact, one of the 33-year-old’s challenges as a superstar is maintaining a friends-and-family-centric life in London, having shunned the trappings Hollywood often boasts its mega stars.
“If I ever become an egomaniac, then I’ve messed it up,” he joked.
Cavill even shrugged off having an ego if he ever lands the role of James Bond, a character he’s expressed wishes of playing.
“It’d be awesome to play Bond, a classic Bond, really,” he mused. “I wouldn’t play the same kind of Bond as Daniel Craig because that’s an amazing Bond, and I don’t think I’d be the person to outdo Daniel Craig at doing Daniel Craig’s Bond. I would love to do a different version and just have enormous amounts of fun with it.”
