Idris Elba to Team Up With top DJ Jax Jones for a Dance Anthem!

Posted on January 11th, 2018 at 5:29 am by

And while still on the subject of James Bond favorites… Idris Elba will make his debut into mainstream music later this year.

With the forthcoming series of Luther rumoured to be the last, the actor and part-time DJ could be stepping away from TV to focus on his love of music. Oo-er!

Idris – who stars in Hollywood blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War this spring – is teaming up with No1 DJ Jax Jones for a huge dance anthem, after bonding backstage at a festival at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire last summer.

In a recent interview Jax said: “We hung out at El Dorado, he DJ’d after me, he was mad cool and we had a few drinks and stuff, it was pretty chilled we got on straight away.

“And then I saw he had a new film out called Molly’s Game so I went down on the red carpet to support him, we spoke again, got a picture with him and stuff.

“We started chatting about hooking up, he seems interested.

“I pinged him an email with some ideas, so hopefully that can happen this year.”

Idris will start filming the next season of Luther next month and Avengers is out in April so Jax is hoping they could have a banger ready for festival season.

He said: “It’s always good to have new music for the summer, of course.

“I would love to get Idris just speaking on a record, some sort of social commentary too a bit like Baz Luhrmann’s Wear Sunscreen.”

Plus Idris is also rumoured to be working with king of grime Stormzy after they hung out just before Christmas.

Jax’s latest hit Breathe featuring Ina Wroldsen is out now.

More updates coming soon!

Could The Rumors James Norton is to Be the Next James Bond Be True?

Posted on January 11th, 2018 at 4:45 am by

With his cut-glass cheekbones, the sharp dinner jackets, and exotic locations: it’s no surprise that James Norton’s role in McMafia, the BBC One silky new crime drama, has seen him installed this week as the hot favourite to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond. Oo-er!

Bookmaker Coral say Granchester Norton is odds-on favourite to take charge of the franchise next. The firm have given the 32-year-old English actor odds of 1-2 to land the iconic Bond role.

This is despite the fact that Norton claims he hasn’t been approached to play 007.

John Hill, a spokesperson for Coral, said: “James Norton’s stock as an actor is increasing all the time and we feel it won’t be long before he is approached to replace Daniel Craig as the next 007.”

Norton is followed by Tom Hardy at 7-2 to replace Craig.

After this is The American Hustle‘s Jack Huston (4-1), Polkdark Aidan Turner (12-1), Tom Hiddleston (14-1) and Idris Elba (16-1).

The news comes after a James Bond producer said she “wouldn’t hesitate” to break condition to have a female or black actor play Bond.

Coral has also given odds of 5-1 that Bond will next be played by a female actress. Please NO!

Bond supremo Babara Broccoli said: “These films tend to reflect the times, so we always try to push the envelope a little bit.”

The producer continued: “Anything is possible. Right now it’s Daniel Craig, and I’m very happy with Daniel Craig, but who knows what the future will bring.”

But while critics call it Norton’s big audition and Twitter hyperventilates, fawning over his bare-chested beach scene, remember we’ve been in this exact spot before, in 2016, when a preening Hiddleston caught the eye as a debonair spy in the not-too-dissimilar-to-McMafia thriller The Night Manager.

After Craig had seemed to announce his retirement from Bond duty with his comment that he would rather slash his own wrists than play the secret agent again, Hiddleston was considered a shoo-in: at one point, betting was even suspended on him taking the role.

But then he began a publicity-ravenous relationship with Taylor Swift, which stripped him of any veneer of cool and unobtainability – essential 007 traits – Broccoli allegedly deemed him too “smug and not tough enough” to play the world’s most famous spy.

Craig, had ruled out returning to the Bond franchise after Spectre.

However, he has agreed to reprise the role for Bond 25.

Speculation is still rife over who his successor will be though.

So, naturally, the question on everyone’s lips is… are we looking at the future 007? Not content that Daniel Craig has signed for the next Bond film, we’re still casting around for his successor, apparently without having agreed exactly what the successful candidate requires.

I shall keep you all posted on this one!

Sam Smith’s New Album is Named After His Childhood Home!

Posted on August 16th, 2017 at 12:54 pm by

Singer Sam Smith‘s new record name is the ‘ultimate tribute’ to his family. The velvet-voiced British star has been off the radar working on a follow-up to his multi-award winning debut, In The Lonely Hour.

The Oscar winning crooner recently sent fans into meltdown with a series of images from a new video shoot, directed by James Barber.

They featured a cryptic message TPH-50HR tattooed on his chest.

Fans have cracked the code which stands for ‘The Pink House 50 Heydon Road’ – the address of his childhood home.

A source told the Daily Star Online: “Sam has chosen the title as the ultimate tribute to his parents Fred and Kate and sisters who have always supported his dream.

“They never once tried to dissuade him following his dreams, so it’s a very personal record.”

Sam, who recently went on holiday with his dad, is finally ready to step back into the limelight.

He appeared at the YSL Beauty Club party at Sink The Pink in London this week ahead of a rumoured late summer single release.

Sam has worked with long-time collaborators Jimmy Napes and Naughty Boy on the new album, alongside Clean Bandit, Timbaland and 2016 BRITs Critics’ Choice nominee Frances.

The album could be with us as soon as September with a world tour next February.

NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN … Daniel Craig WILL Return as James Bond!

Posted on July 26th, 2017 at 7:09 am by

He said he would rather slash his wrist than play James Bond a fifth time.  I thought that was a little extreme… But still, it’s SWOON-TIME folks … Daniel Craig will play Bond in at least one more film, which will be released in November 2019. Oo-er!

Back in September, reports suggested Daniel was on the verge of signing up as 007 again and now the New York Times has claimed Craig will be back in at least one more Bond film.

He will reportedly reprise his role in late 2019 when the next film in the franchise hits cinemas.

News that Craig is set to sign on the dotted line for a fifth time comes after a number of high-profile Brits were tipped to replace him.

A source previously told the Sunday Mirror: “It’s taken time but Daniel has come round and the strong consensus in the Bond offices is that Mr Craig is 007 again.”

Meanwhile Bond producer Barbara Broccoli is just as determined to get Skyfall singer Adele – who is said to be returning to live in the UK after growing homesick in America – back to record a second Bond theme tune.

The song from the 2012 movie was the first Bond theme tune to win at the Brits and Grammy Awards, as well as the Golden Globes.

The source, who is close to the “Bond25” project, added: “Craig and Adele together are the winning team, the ultimate choice, the money spinners.

“[Adele is] more of an unknown quantity but loved being part of Bond, so the signs are positive.”

The insider also claimed Daniel’s wife, actress Rachel Weisz, is “on board with the decision” for him to return as 007, even if it means spending a year away from home filming.

‘He’s too smug’…Tom Hiddleston Ruled Out as next James Bond by Bosses!

Posted on April 5th, 2017 at 7:26 am by

This week James Bond bosses have ruled out Tom Hiddleston as the next 007 because they say, he’s “a bit too smug”. I couldn’t agree more!

The Night Manager actor had been the hot favourite to replace Daniel Craig in the iconic spy role so this must come as a big disappointment for the British star.

According to insiders, a string of “embarrassing” stunts seem to have cost him the job,

A pal of Bond producer Barbara Broccoli revealed: “Barbara doesn’t like Tom, he’s a bit too smug and not tough enough for Bond.”

She was also apparently unimpressed with his fling with Taylor Swift and his Golden Globes acceptance speech.

There the star-studded audience cringed as the British actor told a story about aid workers in South Sudan had wanted to “say hello (to him) because they had binged-watched The Night Manager”.

Hiddleston later apologised that his speech was “inelegantly expressed” – but Broccoli’s pal said it had made him seem “too fame hungry and shallow” to play Bond.

But whoever takes over the 007 role may have to wait. Craig, who has starred in the last four Bond movies, is in talks with Broccoli about a fifth – despite earlier saying he would rather “slash my wrists” than reprise the role.

When asked who might take over, he also said: “Look, I don’t give a f***.”
But now Broccoli is said to have talked him into staying on as Bond after working with him on a recent New York stage production of Othello.

A source said: “They have a script and will go into production as soon as Daniel is ready to commit.”

Daniel is still my hot favorite to return to the role. I hope he does!

Sam Smith’s Music Comeback Finally Revealed!

Posted on March 29th, 2017 at 6:54 am by

Oscar winning Brit Sam Smith may have all but vanished into obscurity over the past few years but he is just months away from an epic return after his management imposed hiatus.

The 24-year-old singing sensation has been on a very long break since winning an Oscar for the Best Original Song for James Bond theme tune The Writing’s On The Wall will release his long awaited second album armed with some new songs that are sure to break our hearts all over again this September before embarking on a mammoth world tour. Oo-er!

But The Lonely Hour star’s absence wasn’t due to his own accord, but instead a marketing ploy by his management.

“Sam is desperate to get back out there again,” a close source said.

“His album is due out at the end of September and he can’t wait.

“The initial plan was for him to take just a year out as his album sales were still great overseas but then his management asked him to take another year off.

“He wasn’t keen on the idea but understood why.”

Talking about the new record, they added: “He’s been working really hard and has more than enough tracks ready to go.

“It’s just going to be working out which songs make the final cut now.”

But that’s not all; the vocal powerhouse is apparently hitting the road.

“The tour is penciled in to kick off at the start of February 2018 and will take him all over the world,” the insider explained.

“Sam has found it really tough being away from music and just wants to be on stage again.”

A rep for Sam Smith has declined to comment on the story.

Peter Capaldi Announces He is Quitting Doctor Who!

Posted on January 31st, 2017 at 7:50 am by

Hurrah! Let the joyous news be spread…

Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi is quitting his role in the famous science fiction series, telling the BBC, “it’s time to go.”

The Scotts Timelord will step down as the 12th actor to lead the British sci-fi Doctor Who at the end of the year. Oo-er!

The 55-year-old star started as the 12th reincarnation of the much-loved time lord in 2014 for the series’ eighth season.

In an interview on BBC Radio 2, he said: “it’s time to move on.”  Capaldi, the 12th actor to play the Doctor, an alien Time Lord who travels through space and time is expected to premiere his last season in April.

He added: “But I’m still Doctor Who. I’ve got a lot to do – we’re doing epic stuff. I’m not done yet.”

Capaldi is the fourth actor to play the enigmatic hero of time and space since the BBC relaunched the series in 2005. He followed in the footsteps of Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, and Matt Smith.

And Capaldi isn’t the only person stepping down from the cult TV show this year. Showrunner Steven Moffat will be replaced by Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch) for the next season.

The Doctor is a member of an alien race of being called Timelords who travel through time and space in a Tardis, a vehicle shaped like a blue, telephone booth-like police-box.

The character is recast every few season as part of a quirk in which the character dies, then is regenerated in a new body.

“Doctor Who,” first broadcast in 1963, is one of the BBC’s most popular programs around the world.

Don’t get me wrong… I think Capaldi is a great actor, he was just not the perfect Doctor Who. He was excellent as John Frobisher, a civil servant in 2009’s Torchwood: Children of Earth. In my opinion, he would have faired far better playing the The Master. But then Moffat got it wrong everytime!

Speculation began Tuesday about Capaldi’s replacement, candidates Richard Ayoade (er, NO), Rory Kinnear (Hmmm, not bad), Miranda Hart (er, NOOOOO), and David Harewood (NO, great in CW’s Supergirl, but NOT the Doctor!).

My favorite is Ben Whishaw — who plays Q in the James Bond 007 films – please give him the job!

Fifty Shades Actor Jamie Dornan Eyes James Bond Role!

Posted on January 25th, 2017 at 7:10 am by

It seems that every actor in the Western Hemisphere is panting to be the next James Bond. But there’s one actor apparently more desperate than the rest… Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan.

According to The Sun, the “Anthropoid” star – Jamie made the playful comment about the coveted role during a unique interaction with Q Radio breakfast host Stephen Clements.

Clements had penned a version of rapper Eminem’s Stan featuring the likes of Eamonn Holmes, Chipmunk and Arlene Foster in a bid to get Jamie’s attention. It worked!

The Irish actor was happy to respond as the challenge had been a tool for the pair to raise money for TinyLife charity.

Jamie – who is famous for playing Christian Grey – replied with his own rap verse as  he quipped: “Dear Stephen, I’m sorry it took me so long to respond – I’ve been running around the world trying to convince people I’m James Bond.”

The search for the next Bond began after the current James Bond, Daniel Craig, has refused to contact the studios to confirm — or deny — his participation in the next film. This stalemate has forced the studios to look for a replacement.

There are various actors being screened tested and the race is on to choose the one best to portray the famous spy. Actors like Idris Alba, Aidan Turner, Jack Hutson, Tom Hardy, James Nortton, Tom Hiddleston, and Ryan Gosling.

Producer Barbara Brocolli has conducted auditions for the role vacated by Craig. However, as of this time, the film outfit has not announced the lucky actor. There have been several actors who auditioned but all of them were turned down.

A source said: “Daniel and MGM are currently at a stalemate with him having not spoken to them about Bond.

“They have offered a bigger wage deal, and asked about his filming availability to his reps in 2017, but as of yet they have not spoken to Daniel.”

Meanwhile, the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey – Fifty Shades Darker will be released in time for the Valentine’s Day, February 10. Trailers were released to tease the fans what is going to happen in “Fifty Shades of Grey.” There is a hint of a possible wedding and tragedy as the trailers show a stalking woman following Christian Grey and Anastasia Steel.
