Dr. House Gets Locked Up in the Big House!
Posted on August 30th, 2011 at 2:45 pm by

A new promotional clip for the popular TV series House, M.D. reveals Dr. Gregory House, played by actor Hugh Laurie, will be spending time struggling in prison. As the series enters the eighth season, which is rumored to be the final arch of the show, the main character appears to be hitting a very rough patch in his life.
The reason for the grumpy doctor’s incarceration has not been confirmed; however, as fans of the show know, Dr. House has a nasty painkiller addiction that causes him a lot of problems. The first episode of the eighth season of House, which will also be the first episode without actress Lisa Edelstein as a principal cast member, is scheduled to air in the U.S. on October 3rd, 2011.
How will the addicted doctor survive prison? It looks like we will find out soon enough…
Hugh Laurie Becomes Hugh L’Oreal!

Playing the grumpy Dr. House has made Hugh Laurie one of the highest-paid actors on TV, and he is about to get another big pay check from L’Oreal Paris. Laurie recently agreed to become an ambassador for L’Oreal Paris Men Expert products alongside Hollywood stars Gerard Butler and Patrick Dempsey.
Speaking about taking on this seemingly-shallow role for a cosmetic company, Laurie said: “At first I thought it was a mistake, but then I realised that L’Oreal wasn’t looking for models but for people with strong personalities, who are worth it…and who aren’t afraid to proclaim that using cosmetics can be a very masculine decision after all.”
Now Hugh can list cosmetics spokesperson on his resumé, which also includes comedian and musician. He’s a man of many talents. Apparently you can teach an old ‘Doc’ new tricks.
Torchwood Blazes Trail Toward International Success!

The British sci-fi series Torchwood continues to gain fantastic momentum in America as development of the show’s fourth season commences. Last June, U.S. premium cable television channel Starz agreed to co-finance as well as carry the Doctor Who spinoff on its network and now Torchwood has expanded its writing staff to include A-list American sci-fi story tellers as well.
The three new writers are Doris Egan, who worked on House, Jane Espenson who wrote for Battlestar Galactica (one of my personal favorites), and John Shiban, who contributed to The X-Files. Original cast members John Barrowman and Eve Myles are set to reprise their roles of Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper respectively. The show goes back into production, this time in North America, in January and will air next summer.
The skills of all of these talented people combined with the brilliant guidance of creator Russell T. Davies are sure to make the fourth season of Torchwood the best one yet! Thank our lucky Starz!
Look Hugh’s in the Doghouse!

You don’t expect to see Dr House cuddling puppies, but off-screen as the decidedly less grumpy , he’s a big softie when it comes to dogs.
The TV star was spotted petting the fluffy white pooch between filming scenes for the show in Malibu yesterday.
Hugh’s one of our biggest Brit success stories on US TV, but after seven seasons Laurie hasn’t revealed if he’ll stay on the show when his contract comes up for renewal after the eighth.
He said: ‘I only hope we’ll know when the time is right [to end it]. When people blunder on for five years after, it gets taken out of your hands. Someone will say, ‘That’s it.’
‘For now I’m immensely proud of the things we did this season.’
And we’re proud of you Hugh!
