Who will play Who in possible Doctor Who movie?

Rumours about the popular BBC series Doctor Who being adapted for the big screen have been swirling around for years, but the rumours have become even more rampant ever since director David Yates, best known for helming multiple Harry Potter films, mentioned that he will possibly be developing a feature adaptation.

Furthermore, Yates had Doctor Who fans pondering which actor would portray the iconic Time Lord in the feature film after Yates was quoted as saying Doctor Who series producers Russell T. Davies and Steven Moffathave done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch.” The truth is that only Yates knows just how much reinvention he would apply in terms of casting and character development, but that fact obviously does not stop the rest of us from speculating.

However, the legitimacy of Yates’s account of the Doctor Who movie became less reliable after Moffat, the current executive producer of the Doctor Who series, more recently said: “There are no developed plans for a Doctor Who movie at the moment.” He added: “But if and when the movie happens it will need to star television’s Doctor Who – and there’s only ever one of those at a time.” With reference to Yates’s statements, Moffat said: “The brilliant David Yates was talking off the cuff and a little prematurely.”

Moffat may insist that the actor personifying the Doctor on television (currently Matt Smith) must also play him in the movie, but if the movie takes two or three years to manifest, Smith might not still be playing the character. Therefore, the question remains… Who will star in the possible Doctor Who movie? Only time, or a Time Lord, can tell.

What’s Up With Emma Watson’s Love-Life!?

Emma Watson

Who in their right mind could refuse the gorgeous Emma Watson…? However, it appears her current beau Johnny Simmons, has, and now I hear their romance is on the rocks!

Here’s why… Emma recently moved back to England to study at Oxford University for a year before moving back to the states to finish her degree at Brown. However, their future is uncertain now, after Emma asked Simmons to move to England to be with her, to which so far he has refused. Tut-tut… the silly boy!

The couple has been dating since June of this year, after they met on the set of the 21-year-old Potter star’s latest film, The Perks of Being a Wallflower. A source close to Emma has said; “Emma has been telling people that the relationship is complicated”… Yes, very complicated I would say, and now miles apart.

You would think LA-based Johnny could give up a little sunshine for our Emma, after all, she is such a ray of light, and besides, it is only for one year. Obviously, his heart is not in this relationship. I say, get rid girl!

Daniel Radcliffe Has Date with The Woman in Black!

Daniel Radcliffe

The teaser trailer for Daniel Radcliffe’s first post-Potter film, The Woman in Black, was recently released. The film is an adaptation of the classic book and play of the same name and was directed by James Watkins and written by Jane Goldman, the co-screenwriter of X-Men: First Class.

Radcliffe plays a young lawyer named Arthur Kipps, who travels to a remote house on a mysterious British island to put the last affairs of a deceased client in order.

Speaking to MTV news about the horror movie, Radcliffe said: “It’s going to be terrifying, and at the test screening they had, apparently people were leaping out of their seats terrified, so I think it’s just going to be a really, really good movie.

The Woman In Black is scheduled to be released on February 12th, 2012.

Daniel’s acting career, outside of portraying Harry Potter, appears to be going strong. Congratulations Daniel!

"How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" Broadway Opening Night - After Party

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part II is one of the most eagerly awaited film finales of our generation and now with it within weeks of hitting our screens, its biggest star, Daniel Radcliffe, has revealed that he has been in a long battle with alcohol.

The 22-year-old actor told GQ magazine he hasn’t had a drop of alcohol since August 2010 after realizing he had a problem and had become too dependent on alcohol.

He said: “I became so reliant on alcohol to enjoy stuff. There were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person’s lifestyle that really isn’t suited to me.”

Radcliffe also revealed to GQ that his relationship suffered considerably in his “alcohol years” but said that life with his girlfriend has become much easier since becoming tee-total: “I’m actually enjoying the fact I can have a relationship with my girlfriend where I’m really pleasant and I’m not f*****g up totally all the time.”

The British star added, “As much as I would love to be a person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time, that doesn’t work for me. There’s no shame in enjoying the quiet life. And that’s been the realization of the past few years for me’…

So good to hear, Mr Radcliffe… Alcohol, fast cars and a rock-and-roll lifestyle is not the way to spend your hard-earned cash, but at least you had a little taste of the high life, and even if Charlie Sheen calls it ‘winning’, I’d say that type of lifestyle is far more suited to the losers…

You made a wise choice Daniel… Good on you!

Emma Watson Reveals: “Malfoy Was My First Crush.”

Ooh-la-la… Harry Potter’s Emma Watson clearly loves a bad boy…or maybe it’s the way she treats them that makes them bad!

Read on…

Chatting to Seventeen the pixie-faced starlet revealed she once had a ‘huge’ crush on her former co-star Tom Felton, AKA Potter’s nemesis Draco Malfoy, saying, “He [Tom] was my first crush, he totally knows. We talked about it – we still laugh about it. We are really good friends now, and that’s cool.”

However, it’s not surprising Watson has a hard time finding love; she also confessed that when it comes to dating, she could be a terrible ‘game player.’

Watson added, “I’m so impatient – It’s one of my worst traits, if I want to see someone, I want to see them, and if I don’t, then I don’t.”

Oo-er, a proper little madam!

She continued, “My friends are always telling me I have to play hard to get because I’ll pretty much say to a guy, “I like you – let’s go hang out.”

‘But my friends are like, “You can’t do that! You have to string this guy along.” ‘It’s a nightmare,’ she confessed. ‘I definitely haven’t figured it out yet.”

Hmm, I hate to say it, but this type of behavior could see Miss Watson being single for some time to come if she’s not careful…

On a fun note though, I was thrilled to hear that young Emma was spotted reading my blog on her iPhone at LAX a few weeks back… She also had a copy of The British Weekly Newspaper sticking out the of top of her hand luggage according to my spies… How cool is that, eh!?

Well, we love Emma Watson…we really do… But a word of advice Emma, less of the game playing and perhaps one day you might find yourself a nice chap (I hope!)

Emma Watson is Spellbindingly Beautiful on Vogue’s July Cover!

Posted on June 14th, 2011 at 5:26 am by

Emma Watson

Emma Watson was just eleven-years-old when she first graced the big screens in the very first Harry Potter film. Now, ten years on, the 21-year-old is gracing the covers of some of the world’s top publications; including U.S Vogue. You could say Watson has certainly cast her magic upon the world! And I’m sure you’ll agree the British actress looks simply spellbindingly beautiful on the upcoming July edition.

But now, having put away her broomstick, Watson reminisces about her time at Hogwarts and talks openly about growing up on set, and trying to live a “normal life.”

In the interview Emma explains the downside of fame and how it has interfered with her love life, and the fact that men often don’t approach her for dates. The young star also reveals how she and former co-star, Daniel Radcliffe would give each other relationship advice, saying: “We would help each other compose texts to our most recent flames.” Really? I would have thought actor Rupert Grint, AKA Ron Weasley far better for giving out advice in the love department.

Watson has dedicated nearly half her life to the character Hermione Granger, so its only natural to say that its been a struggle for her to live a normal life but has faith that her two lives can co-exist, after reading rock legend Patti Smith’s 2010 memoir Just Kids. An inspiration to young Emma, said she, “I want to live like Patti. I want to write like Patti. The book was so honest and brave. I loved the way she sees the world. I really felt that life was more beautiful after I read it and I felt more hopeful.”

Oh the innocent and young… Maybe that “normal life” Emma is talking about can finally begin after she has finished promoting the final installment of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 in cinemas next month… I wonder?!

Watson Woos The Crowds At The Potter Premier In London

Emma-Watson

Reigning fashionista Emma Watson looked stunning in London earlier today with her cute pixie haircut, posing confidentially on the red carpet at the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.

The crowds in Leicester Square whistled and cheered as the movie starlet – looking more like a sexy Bond girl than a Hogwarts student, braved the cold British weather, in a slinky black vintage lace-and-feather frock, that showed off her fabulous legs.

Emma, who plays Hermione Granger, admitted finding coming to the end of Harry Potter ‘emotional’. Telling the press: “We are all so close and it was a great adventure but we all have to move on.”

When asked if she would ever reprise the role again – after author J.K. Rowling recently hinted she might have another book in her – Watson said she was unsure.

Saying: “I don’t know. I feel like I’ve just said goodbye to Hermione. I’d have to see how I felt at the time.”

The film which stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley is released in the states November 19.

My, my how the children grow up so quickly… Makes me feel rather old!

Who Has The Specs Factor… Radcliff or Cowell?

Posted on November 7th, 2010 at 8:38 am by

Daniel Radcliff and Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell has always had the magicians touch, turning hundreds of wannabes into superstars with those magic words, “You’re through to the next round.”

On last nights X Factor (UK), Simon donned a pair Harry Potter style-specs reminiscent of those worn by Daniel Radcliff in the hit movies.

And if you ask me, I agree with the hundreds of twitterers bombarding the official X Factor Twitter page loving Simon’s new look, indeed there is an uncanny resemblance to the boy wizard, taking the odd wrinkle into consideration, of course…

One said: “Simon Cowell in glasses looks like a 50-year-old Harry Potter…” Another fan tweeted: “Simon Cowell and harry potter separated at birth :) Loved those glasses lol”

Could this be Cowell’s way of hinting to play Potter’s pop in the next movie..? I wouldn’t be surprised; anything is possible in Cowell’s world!
