Superman Star Henry Cavill Reveals He Was Once a Chubby Kid!

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no, it’s buff Superman star Henry Cavill showing off his amazing strength while swinging on a pole on a busy city street.

And in this month’s cover interview for Men’s Health magazine, Cavill who steps into the skin-tight suit and cape to play the hero in Man Of Steel, explains he was once a chubby kid who was given the nickname “Fat Cavill.”

He said, “It’s definitely a mean nickname, but kids are kids. Kids are cruel. Whatever… I was fat.”

Determined to bulk up for his ‘super’ role without the help of CGI or special effects, the Tudors actor, who chiseled his athletic 6’1″ frame down to 6% body fat to play a Greek warrior in Immortals, reveals how he lifted heavy weights and followed a strict diet with the help of Gerard Butler’s trainer Mark Dwight.“I had a big sense of pride,” stated Cavill.

“I was like, ‘No shading. I don’t want you to draw abs on me. I don’t want you to put dirt in the right places. I just want to do it myself. I want to have the body.”

He added: “I think the best thing I learned was that I can do it. A lot of people think they probably can’t, until they actually do. When I saw pictures I would say ‘Is that me?’”

Cavill joins fellow Brits Andrew Garfield and Christian Bale who have taken the U.S. by storm as Spider-Man and Batman; now he hopes Zack Snyder‘s reboot will have the same impact on the movie world, and we do too, Henry…we do too!

Butler Ditches the Just for Men for the Natural Grey Look!

Perhaps this new look could be for a film role? Gerard Butler is set to star in a new comedy called Playing the Field, in which he plays the coach of his son’s soccer team, but in true Butler fashion he ends up seducing all the gorgeous mothers…could that involve a middle-aged grey haired guy?

Another possible reason could be the guy is just stressed! I mean there’s just no stopping him right now. He has two films set to be release later this year, Machine Gun Preacher, a true story of Sam Childers, a former drug-dealing biker who became a crusader for hundreds of Sudanese children forced to become soldiers. And the other, Movie 43, which sees Butler star along side a host of big name Hollywood actors including Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel, Naomi Watts, and Uma Thurman. Wow not a bad cast! Wait…I forgot one other, fellow grey-haired actor also appearing… Richard Gere, bet those two had lots to talk about, er, hair-wise…

Whatever the reason is for Gerard’s grey looking locks, one thing’s for sure, there’s nothing wrong growing out gracefully in my opinion. For what it’s worth, I think it rather suits him. It’s certainly worked for George Clooney!

Demi and Gerry Enjoy a Celebrity Sing-Song!

It’s not your average night out at a karaoke bar when Gerard Butler, Demi Moore and Michelle Monaghan drop in, but that’s what happened this weekend at Rockstarz in Detroit.

The A-listers are all in town filming and met up for a raucous singalong at the bar, belting out hits including Sheryl Crowe’s All I Wanna Do and AC/DC’s You Shook Me All Night Long.

Demi and Gerard have been friends since they visited Haiti together for Artists for Peace, and Michelle stars in Butler’s latest film, Machine Gun Preacher. Meanwhile Demi is in town filming LOL with Miley Cyrus – who may have been able to put the other three celebs to shame on the mike, but is obviously too young

There was something different about chubby Scotsman Gerard Butler as he filmed scenes in a Detroit trailer park yesterday. Was it the the tattoos. leather waistcoat or Harley Davidson T-shirt?

Nope, it was the greasy, slicked back mullet that he was sporting!

The actor was shooting The Machine Gun Preacher and his new (well, really it’s retro I guess!) look was for his role in the movie. But although there’s a slight Wolverine look about him when he’s on his motorbike, I think Hugh Jackman’s the only one who can pull that ‘do off!

Apparently Li-Lo and Scot serial shagger Gerard Butler are more than ‘just good friends’. The pair was pictured together at an LA party last week getting up close and apparently afterwards they went to a hotel together. To be a fly on the wall…or a SCRAM on the ankle!

Says a source: “They arrived at the party separately. When they saw each other they got together and embraced.

“As the afternoon wore on, they became more and more friendly and eventually one thing led to another and they left together.

“Friends said they went off to a hotel. They were all over each other at the party, really not leaving each other’s sides.”

Is this really a good idea Gerard? Gerard has been tee-total for years and Lindsay has been tee-total for, er, days. Maybe he’ll be a good influence on the ‘troubled’ star!

No Sign of the Bounty For Jen and Gerard…

Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler have been working HARD to promote their latest film The Bounty Hunter, but it seems their efforts (and red carpet gropes) have been wasted.

The film has taken just £3.8m at the UK box office since its release two weeks ago, which added to its measly $48m at the US box office equals a box-office flop.

And the critics have been vicious to Jen, who is so desperate to prove herself as a movie actress rather than ‘Rachel from Friends’ (as Ricky Gervais called her at The Golden Globes).

TBH only got an 8% rating on movie website rottentomatoes.com and one critic, from The Scotsman said:

“The Bounty Hunter fails to locate any laughs or charm over two punishing hours as its chemistry-free leads, Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston, mug their way through two of the worst performances they’ve ever given.”

Oh dear. Looks like an epic fail for Jen and Gerry. Time to wheel out the ‘showmance’ again to get more bums on seats? Judging by the lack of chemistry in the film, we’re not buying it, on or off screen.

What do you reckon – is Jen still America’s sweetheart or should she ditch the rom-coms for good?

Butler’s Romantic Parisian Stroll With French TV Girl…

So much for Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler being an item if this story is anything to go by…

Beefcake But’s was spotted strolling around Paris at the weekend hand in hand with local TV interviewer Laurie Cholewa.

According to sources Butler met Cholewa the prior weekend, returning to Paris midweek for a full-on date that apparently lasted well into the night. One insider told People that Gerry “completely cracked” for Laurie during their sit-down interview promoting his latest film The Bounty Hunter in which he stars with Aniston.

Now reports are hinting Gerry has struck up a relationship with Cholewa…

Wow, Butler works fast, eh? Only last week paps caught Gezza at on the Seine River in Paris with his hand placed suggestively placed on Aniston’s backside giving off the impression there was a lot more going on than just promoting a movie.

So I wonder what will Jen make of all of this? Can’t wait to hear what the folk in her camp have to say!

Where’s The Beef? Butler’s Now a Posh Mag Living Lad!

What’s happened to the beefy and brawny Gerard Butler we all know and love, eh?

A copy of next month’s Architectural Digest has just landed on my desk with none other than beefcake Buts’ himself, gracing its glorious May cover!

Apparently the hot Scot’s new batch’ pad is boasting ‘thirteen-foot-tall mahogany doors’ and a ‘knocker’ that could summon the dead.’ Oo-er, you’ve got a knocker that wakes the dead, eh Gezza? So I’ve heard matey!

When describing the 3,300-square-foot luxurious loft space in Manhattan The Bounty Hunter star says: “I guess I would describe the apartment as bohemian old-world rustic chateau with a taste of baroque.”

Oh lordy, not to sound at all common but what a load of ‘baro-ollocks’ he’s spouting. And since when’s Sir Gerard become so up market, I guess money really CAN buy class, right?

But wait it gets worse; ‘Donatella Butler’, er, that’s Gerry to you, also has a ceiling fresco (ooh) depicting the rape of Ganymede, plaster walls chipped and mottled with age, massive columns supporting limestone lions (vulgar) and crystal chandeliers (very Essex sounding) that cast spidery shadows all over the room… Eek, run!

Don’t get me wrong, I love a ceiling fresco, but the way it’s described here is enough to put one off their scotch eggs and haggis pie for life!

And Gerry babes one more thing, talking of square footage – next time put a pair of socks on please, this is Architectural Digest not Foot Fetish Monthly, I’m sure you’ll have every foot-loving-freak out there signing up to your fan-club probably as quick as this is being read.

And those curled up toes honey… Er, not cute!
