It’s been a couple of weeks since new Harry Potter play ‘The Cursed Child’ started preview shows and we’re still just about a month away from opening night, which means we’re all wondering… When’s the movie coming?!
The good news is though, British actor Daniel Radcliffe isn’t ruling out a return as Harry Potter should new play ever become a film. Oo-er!
The young star who rose to fame as a child playing JK Rowling’s boy wizard in the hit movie adaptations of her books. He has since gone on to carve a career playing varying roles from Beat poet Allen Ginsberg in ‘Kill Your Darlings‘ to, most recently, a farting corpse in ‘Swiss Army Man‘.
His next film sees him take on the role of a magician in ‘Now See You Me: The Second Act‘, but he has not completely shut the door on Hogwarts. “It would depend on the script,” Radcliffe told Radio Times when asked if he could be tempted to take a role as an adult Potter.
“The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary. But then I am sure Harrison Ford said that with Han Solo and look what happened there! So I am saying ‘No’ for now but leaving room to backtrack in the future.”
‘The Cursed Child’ opened for previews in London earlier this month, but Radcliffe is unlikely to attend. “It would be a weird one. I could be completely wrong in this but I feel like if I went to see it, there’s going to be a lot of Harry Potter fans there and would that then become a thing?” he told E! News. “I would never want to do anything that would distract or take away from the show.”
Co-written by Rowling, ‘The Cursed Child’ is the first new Harry Potter story in nine years. Little is known about the plot, bar that the story is set 19 years after characters, Harry, Ron and Hemione waved goodbye to Hogwarts. Harry’s son Albus takes the starring role, left “struggling with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted” while learning with his father that “sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places”.
Jamie Parker is playing a grown-up Harry, who now works for the Ministry of Magic. Sam Clemmett takes on the role of Albus, while Noma Dumezweni has been cast as Hermione and Paul Thornley plays Ron. Tours are currently pushing resell ticket prices up to $3,700, with the sold-out play running until next May.
‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ officially opens at the Palace Theatre London on 30 July, with the script hitting stores in book form the following day.
Good luck getting a ticket to see it!

“I quidditch!” might be something Emma Watson‘s saying behind the scenes, as news spreads that the Harry Potter starlet is quitting acting after her latest film was a box-office disaster… Oo-er!
The former child star is stepping back from the movie industry for a while so she can focus on her campaigning work and avoid embarrassments after her latest film Regression made a measly £243 per cinema in takings.
In a snooty new interview, the beauty explained her decision was so she could focus on her “own personal development” and, er, start her own, um… book club!
Emma said: “I’m taking a year away from acting to focus on two things.
“My own personal development is one. My own personal task is to read a book a week and also to read a book a month as part of my book club.
One thing I am going to do that I’ve been working on for a while is completing my yoga Level 3 meditation for teaching.”
Watson has been increasingly vocal in the world of feminist activism after launching the successful “HeForShe” campaign.
Now she has revealed she was nearly tempted to go back to university.
She said: “I almost thought about going and doing a year of gender studies, then I realised that I was learning so much by doing my reading.”
Emma is so advanced these days that she is becoming a wizard herself.
In an interview with famous American feminist bell hooks, she added: “It almost feels like the chemistry and structure of my brain is changing so rapidly sometimes. It feels as if sometimes I’m struggling to keep up with myself.”
Emma’s star has fallen significantly since her heady days at Hogwarts cheering on Daniel Radcliffe on the quidditch pitch as clever-clogs witch Hermione Granger.
The eight-blockbuster franchise made £5billion worldwide and turned her into one of Hollywood’s hottest properties.
But with her next film Colonia looking doomed to go straight to DVD, Emma’s last hopes of more box-office glory before bowing out will be opposite Tom Hanks in The Circle and with her turn as Belle in a live-action version of Beauty and the Beast next year.
Hope she won’t be too busy at book club to attend the premiere… Just sayin’…

Daniel Radcliffe will forever be associated with the Harry Potter franchise. It doesn’t matter how many other movies he makes or what else he does. With a new movie set in the same world on it’s way there are a few different ways you might expect Radcliffe to react.
He could be dismissive of this new kid on the block trying to ride his coat tails, or he could play the part of the successful veteran, trying to help the new kid make something of himself. It turns out neither is the case.
Even though he’s left his glasses and his magic wand behind, Radcliffe’s still got a severe case of “costume envy” when he saw the new wizard in town – fellow Brit, Eddie Redmayne.
It turns out Radcliffe is actually jealous of Redmayne’s stylish wardrobe on the highly anticipated Harry Potter spinoff film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them which is currently filming in the U.K. Mostly he’s jealous of the wardrobe.
Due for release in 2016, the film, written by J.K Rowling, is set in the same magical world of the Potter films but in New York instead of the U.K., and 70 years before Harry’s story begins.
As I recently recently revealed, the Oscar-winning Redmayne, 33, plays eccentric wizard Newt Scamander, who wears a dapper, teal, three-quarter length coat over a wool suit, accessorized with a wand.
I can feel Radcliffe’s pain. Getting to wear fun and interesting costumes has got to be one of the best parts of being an actor. It can really help you feel more like the character you’re playing.
Many of the characters within the Harry Potter movies got to wear unique outfits, but Harry, along with Ron and Hermione rarely got to wear anything beyond their school uniforms or fairly standard street clothes.
This is still the Harry Potter world right? I wonder why did the guy the franchise is named after wasn’t styled as cool as Eddie’s character!?

Actor Daniel Radcliffe has shaved his head for a new movie role. What a tough boy!
But the British star’s new look isn’t exactly for the armed forces — his buzz cut is for his role as a government agent posing as a as a neo-Nazi skinhead in Imperium.
A far cry from the rumpled locks of his Harry Potter days, the star’s new hairstyle (or lack thereof) is distinctly military-like, especially since he was sporting a long-sleeve camo shirt with his shorn tresses.
Daniel, 26, shared the photo of his new ’do on his Google+ page and the picture has since been widely circulated by Radcliffe fan sites.
He wrote: “Hi Everyone. Here’s the first look of me as FBI agent Nate Foster in IMPERIUM.
“We began filming the movie this week. I’m very excited about it and will tell you more about it soon!”
‘Imperium’ is based on the real-life story of Michael German, an FBI agent who went spent several years posing as a neo-Nazi so he could infiltrate and investigate US white supremacist groups.
Radcliffe will play an up-and-coming agent called Nate Foster who goes undercover in a bid to prevent white supremacists from building a dirty bomb.
Daniel Ragussis is making his feature film directorial debut and also wrote its script based on German’s experiences. Imperium is expected to be released in 2016.
Radcliffe may look like he’s cut his own hair with a cheap pair of clippers, but being worth £64million, we doubt that’s the case.

We all miss the days when Daniel Radcliffe was rocking the wand and wizards hat back in his Harry Potter days!
Take heart in the fact that Radcliffe is at least back to the illusionist world of Now You See Me.
Lionsgate studios announced Tuesday that Now You See Me 2 will feature Radcliffe and Lizzy Caplan — joining the cast as more magic and a bigger heist is summoned.
The 2013 caper about a group of illusionist bank robbers — Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco — is gearing up for a sequel.
The sequel’s plot will still revolve around the Four (now Three?) Horsemen, one year after the first film.
The group’s services are enlisted by an enemy who asks them to partake in one of the Horsemen’s most dangerous heists yet—presumably until Now You See Three-D brings the heist action into a new dimension.
Those other guys are good at magic. But are they Hogwarts good? Think not.
Radcliffe told said last week that he’s interested in finding “weird, eccentric” roles since the Potterfranchise ended in 2011. And he’s lived up to that, playing a horned murder suspect in Horns, and he will likely look even stranger with his Igor in the upcoming Frankenstein (2015).
Jon M. Chu is directing the film, while Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine are all set to return. The film is set to release on June 10, 2016.

Wow folks, I know the showbiz industry can be a little bit testing at times… However, I was surprised when I heard that Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe takes medication for blood pressure! Oo-er… at the age of 25… Seriously?
The young movie star admitted that he takes the medication to deal with his excruciating cluster headaches, but insisted that his health is nothing to worry about.
In a recent interview, the former boy wizard explained: “You have to be on blood pressure medication and have an ECG every so often. Don’t worry, I’m perfectly fine.”
Daniel, who is currently starring in the romantic comedy What If, spoke about his cluster headaches, which are severe attacks of pain on one side of the head, in a 2012 interview.
He said: “It’s very rare evidently, but it’s exceptionally painful.
“It makes a migraine look quite tame. At the time, I thought I was being a wuss. I was taking 12 [strong painkillers] a day and going, “Why do I still have a headache?'”
Despite maintaining a private persona, Radcliffe has been very open about issues in his life, including his dependence on alcohol to cope with the pressures of fame.
But Daniel regrets opening up about that particular problem.
He said: “If I had to give my younger self one piece of advice it would be, don’t talk about that in an interview. Because I’ve answered questions on it for three or four years since. And it’s such an insignificant part of my life that everyone just wants to talk about.”
Hmmm, doesn’t sound right to me…

British star Daniel Radcliffe reckons his prowess between the sheets is all down to keeping off the booze… Good boy!
The 25-year-old actor said: “For some people sex might be better drunk. But for me and the person I’m doing it with it’s much better sober.
“I’m one of the few people who seem to have had a really good first time.
“It was with somebody I’d gotten to know well. I’m happy to say I’ve had a lot better sex since then.
“But it wasn’t as horrendously embarrassing as a lot of other people’s were, like my friend who got drunk and did it with a stranger under a bridge.”
“I’m happy to say I’ve had a lot better sex since then”
Daniel quit booze four years ago after realising his drinking had got out of control. At the time, he told a magazine he often turned up to work on the Potter movies still drunk from the night before.
But he cleaned up his act in 2010 to focus on his career. And his girlfriend Erin Darke, no doubt benefits from his magic in the bedroom now he is sober. But Dan credits more than just staying on the wagon for his success with women.
He has found his nude roles have helped, too. Daniel famously got his kit off when he was starring in the stage show Equus.
He said: “I went out with quite a few girls at that time. I would just say: ‘Oh cool, you’ve seen me naked.’”

In an interview with BuzzFeed, Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that he’d love to star in an upcoming ‘Batman’ movie as the Dark Knight’s sidekick Robin in the upcoming super-flick Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Asked which franchise he’d like to join next, his rapid-fire answer said it all.
“Batman,” he said. “If they reboot that again, I’ll do that, too. It’s happening isn’t it? With Ben Affleck. I could be Robin. I’m perfect.”
It’s no secret that DC fans would love to see Dick Grayson on the big screen. There’s even been plenty of rumours that we might see Nightwing team up with Ben Affleck’s Batman in ‘Batman V Superman’.
But will he appear as Robin? And who will play him? I’m willing to bet that ‘Daniel Radcliffe’ isn’t the name that instantly comes to mind.
Of course, after starring in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise, he’s already built up a very solid relationship with Warner Bros. Studios. But is that really enough to land him a part as the big-screen Boy Wonder?
“Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice” is scheduled for a May 2016 release.
