Sacha Baron Cohen Set to Star in Les Miserables Movie!
Posted on December 8th, 2011 at 7:59 am by SBGLA

According to reports Sacha Baron Cohen, best known to musical theatre fans for his part in Tim Burton’s Sweeny Todd opposite Helena Bonham Carter, has joined the upcoming Les Miserables movie as Monsieur Thernardier.
It had been suggested recently that Geoffrey Rush was in talks to take the part – Rush did an excellent job playing Inspector Javert opposite Liam Neeson and Claire Danes in the 1998 movie adaptation, which is still one of my favorite films!
Cohen, who’s recent roles include films such as Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan and Brüno, rounds of an all-star cast, that includes Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Russell Crowe as Javert.
Les Mis’ will also see Cohen reuniting with Bonham Carter, who has signed on to play Madame Thenardier. Rumor has it that Glee actress Lea Michele vying for the part of Eponine.
To say that I am very excited about this one is an understatement… Go Sacha; Hollywood will make true thespian out of you yet!
Anne Hathaway Gets Royaly Racy On Saturday Night Live!
Posted on November 22nd, 2010 at 4:37 pm by

With the announcement of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s engagement, spreading across the globe, it was only a matter of time before Saturday Night Live gave the world there comical take on the exciting news.
The hilarious sketch saw Anne Hathaway dress identically to how the real-life Kate looked on the day the happy news broke…but this time the news wasn’t taken so well. Poor “Kate” was reduced to tears by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, as soon Prince William, played Andy Samberg, left you room. The Queen’s polite well-spoken manner was sharply thrown aside and replaced suddenly with a foul-mouthed cockney accent.
“We welcome you to our family with open hearts,” turned to “Shut up. Shut your mouth,” as the Queen, played by Fred Armisen, stood with one leg on a chair, hitching up her skirt.
The abuse towards Kate flowed more frequently from the Queen with remarks like, “You think you can just show up and take over and do a bit of Queening?” and accused her of wanting a piece of their ‘palace action.’
Prince Phillip, played by Bill Hader, threw in his advise to the future Princess, “When it comes to being a wife, when you’re out there waving to a parade, you be Princess Di, you be Princess Grace. But in the bedroom think Fergie”
As soon as William reunited with his fiancée, his grandparents returned to their seats and acted as if nothing had happen… I can safely say that life didn’t imitate act in this case and I’d like to say congratulations to Prince William and his beautiful wife-to-be Kate on their engagement.
Coachella: Music? Huh! Celeb Spotting’s Way More Fun…
Posted on April 17th, 2010 at 5:22 pm by Sean Borg
The A-List flocked to the Coachella Festival this weekend to watch performances by artists such as Beyoncé, Jay Z, The Gorillaz, The Machine and Muse.
Members of the Brit posse, Kelly Osbourne and fashion designer - Julia Clancey were spotted mingling in the crowds with stars such as Anne Hathaway, Kate Bosworth and Katy Perry, who was letting it all hang out in a revealing sexy black dress, surprisingly there was no sign of her fiancée Russell Brand, however…
On the main-stage show Coachella’s first urban music headliner, hip-hop ambassador Jay-Z performed effortlessly through his 90-minute set in which he was joined by Beyoncé who sang Mr Hudson’s song Forever Young while Jay Z rapped along, much to the crowds delight.
This year there seemed to be more stars in the audience than there were on stage, supermodel Agyness Deyn strutted around showing off her bizarre new shaved hairdo, as Kelly Osbourne sipped lemonade after Lemonade to cool down in the sweltering heat.
Showing not a care in the world over her recent tabloid troubles, the scandal struck daughter of Sir Bob – Peaches Geldof bopped around the festival like an excited twelve year-old with her film director boyfriend Eli Roth.
The three-day event began Friday, selling out ALL its 75,000 passes in advance. The festival’s popularity turned into a nightmare for music fans though, some were waiting up to three hours to simply get into the venue.
One of my favorites was actress Zooey Deschanel (pictured left) who performed with her band She & Him onstage; they played a cover version of Chuck Berry’s Roll Over Beethoven, sung by M Ward with Zooey on the piano.
Despite all the chaos due to the massive crowds, perhaps John Lydon said it best as he left the stage after performing with Public Image Limited. “For all of you who missed it, you missed a good f-ing evening. For those of you who didn’t – not bad, huh?”
I couldn’t have put it better myself Johnny boy…
I can’t speak for the rest of my crew, but I’m blooming exhausted already… roll-on tomorrow, I say!
