Things are certainly looking swell for Anna Friel… The British star has much to smile about these days, not only is set to appear in the upcoming Woody Allen project You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, but the actress is currently on location in Philadelphia playing Bradley Cooper’s wife opposite, Robert De Niro and Abbie Cornish in the thriller The Dark Fields, based on Alan Glynn’s novel.

Earlier this week reports surfaced alleging that all was not well in Friel’s relationship with Harry Potter actor David Thewlis, after photos of Anna surfaced in the press appearing overly cozy with her Breakfast At Tiffany’s co-star Joseph Cross, suggesting the ‘friendship’ was much more.

Thewlis however, dismissed the rumors stating firmly that Cross was in fact a good friend.

Wearing this simple but chic grey silk maxi dress (pictured), as she left the set of The Dark Fields, Friel continues to prove she’s still a stylish trend-setter and now working with top talents such as Robert De Niro, it would seem that Anna is well on her way to becoming part of Hollywood’s ‘hip-parade’…

Thewlis and Friel on the Rocks? No, It’s Not a Cocktail!

Thewlis and Friel on the Rocks? No, it’s not a new kind of cocktail… If it were I’d order a round of three!

But that’s the question on everyone’s lips – what’s up with David Thewlis and Anna Friel‘s marriage?

Friel was recently photographed with her Breakfast at Tiffany’s co-star Joseph Cross, showing what seemed to be vast amounts of PDA (er, that’s public displays of affection), on top of that – adding fuel to fire, Cross has even been staying with Anna at her and Thewlis’ Hollywood home.

Yesterday, Thewlis quashed all rumors by flying in to join them from Berlin, where he’s been filming political thriller Anonymous, telling the pack of hungry reporters wanting a scoop, [Joseph] ‘is a good friend of mine’ who is welcome to stay at his home anytime.’ Oo-er!

Anna and Joseph’s close bond has sparked much speculation that all is not well in camp Friel-Thewlis, who have been a couple since 2001. However, Thewlis is totally at ease with their ‘close friendship,’ according to sources.

I won’t even tell you what mucky-ness is going around around in my head right now, I’ll give you a clue… It’s a number and it comes after two… Two’s company, THREE is a… Crowd! Get it?

Oh come on, it is Tinseltown after all; you can’t blame us for jumping the showbiz gossip gun just ever so slightly (wink, wink).

Anna’s Friel-ing The Fizz!

I worried that many of my fellow diners would need treating for whiplash when Brit bombshell Anna Friel bounded into Prizzi’s restaurant in the grungey enclave of Beechwood.

Friel had thrillingly eschewed the flat shoes and nonchalent expression deemed compulsory by the area’s skinny hipsters and was rocking a tiny shimmering mini-dress and three inch heels – very much the Lancashire lady togged up for a night on the town.

Why the Sunday best thought I? As Anna chugged away on a cigarette or three… Well, Prizzi’s was a pitstop before A’s winning performance on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, where she talked candidly about exercising her pelvic floor muscles. Ooh and er, so what was it that loosened those lips (the ones on her face clearly…) Perhaps the clear fizzy drinks she downed? No, no, no… that was surely water, wasn’t it Anna?

Anna’s Going Back To Blighty And It Friels So Good!

I overheard this little piece of gossip at the Cannes Film Festival on the weekend, that Anna Friel is heading back to the UK to play Holly Golightly in London’s West End and if all goes well, she might well make the move a permanent one, or so I’m told… Oo er, this could be a wise choice for you Anna my dear!

2009 got off to a pretty bad start for the Lancashire lass when her show Pushing Daisies, was axed by the ABC Network here in the US after its second season, and now rumor has it she is said to be considering quitting Tinseltown for good… Shock, Horror!

Friel will start a run as the classic heroine in a production of Breakfast at Tiffany’s this September, and all eyes will be watching to see whether she can match the role made famous in the film by Audrey Hepburn. No pressure there then, eh love!

Even though I think Anna is a great actress (now I’m trying to be nice), I reckon this role is going to be a tough one to pull off! Well considering she’s hardly set Hollywood on fire (so far) and the fact she’s still a big star in Britain, I’m thinking it could be a good move for her and hubby David Thewlis to give Britain another go.

But let’s hope the British press “Go-lightly” on Anna as there’s sure to be some “Backlash at Tiffany’s” when the curtain goes up this coming Autumn… And I’ll be sure to keep you all posted!
