Sir Elton John was planning on performing in Egypt on May 18^th; however, the concert appears to have been canceled, not by Elt’, but by the Egyptian musician’s union.

According to the British newspaper The Guardian, Mounir al-Wasimi, the head of the union who claims it is the only body authorised to allow performances by foreign singers in Egypt, recently announced that he is “co-ordinating” with authorities to stop the concert going ahead because Elton John is gay, believes Jesus was gay too, and has been critical of organized religions. Ummm… did Egypt just realize Elton’s gay?

The cancelation of the concert comes after (or as a result of) an interview with Elton, in which he said Jesus was a “super-intelligent gay man,” appeared in Parade magazine earlier this year. Because the Islamic faith regards Jesus as a prophet, some Egyptian Muslim’s may have taken offense to Elton’s comment. It should be pointed out, however, that if the English singer were trying to offend Muslims, he probably wouldn’t criticize Jesus, the most important figure in Christianity.

Clearly, this cancelation boils down to conservative Egyptians’ fundamental rejection of homosexuality as being morally and factually acceptable. Sadly, Elt’s Egyptian fans are the ones who suffer because of this intolerance. Oh well… I guess this just means more Rocket Man for the rest of us…

Will.I.Am gave this gushing statement about her: “I just still can’t believe Cheryl was ever cheated on. I mean, what has to be going through your head to cheat on Cheryl?

“She’s the most beautiful woman in the world. Once you have her, a man can’t do any better. It’s just crazy.

So, Naomi Campbell cries a few tears on telly and thinks it’s all OK, everyone will just simply forgive her?

Well, forgiven or not, the former supermodel HAS finally admitted to having a super-temper on The Oprah Winfrey Show, set to air later today in the US. Horrah bitches!

On the show, a solemn faced Campbell said: “It comes from a deeper place, from another type of emotional disorder.”

She also revealed the intense guilt she experiences as a result of her violent outbursts when she said: “I feel remorseful, ashamed.”

As tears ran down her cheeks, Campbell added: “I’m striving to be a better person.” Aww, our hearts bleed for you…

The phone-bashing diva’s mother and Russian mogul boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin, were in the audience during the show.

While it’s not exactly shocking to hear Naomi has an “emotional disorder,” at least she admitted it.

In light of the fact that the girl has pleaded guilty to multiple charges of assault and violence and that she’s been banned from British Airways, I guess she couldn’t get away with denial at this point.

I’m all for giving someone a second chance, but Naomi, didn’t you get the memo sweetie? We’re not buying into those tears, uh, uh, not this time… Not ever!

Not only is the annual Costume Institute Gala Benefit one of the biggest nights in the fashion calendar but as it was Sienna Miller and Jude Law‘s first public outing since they got back together you’d think they’d be extra vigilant about how they appeared in front of the press. You thought wrong!

While Jude and Sienna arrived at the bash to celebrate the opening of the American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art looking totally slick – him in black tie, her in a plunging navy Pucci dress – Sienna was quick to ditch the fancy frock as soon as she had the chance.

For the afterparty she slipped into her skinny jeans and a loose asymmetric-hemmed T-shirt – and still looked gorge by the way – which was a bit under-dressed compared to the other A-list ladies who were still decked out in designer gowns.

Fair enough Sienna, maybe she just wanted to be comfy, and a good pair of jeans is like settling back into an old, familiar relationship – a bit like what she has with Jude!

Singer Katy Perry, quite literally lit up the red carpet last night, when she attended the Costume Institute Gala in New York City, wearing a gown that resembled an electric jellyfish…

Somebody should institutionalize that costume… and QUICK!

Sometimes I think this column should be called ‘What Peaches did Next’ because there doesn’t seem to be a day when the Geldof girl doesn’t get herself into trouble.

Perhaps I should even consider producing a documentary on her… Now there’s a thought, eh Peaches, having me follow you around day and night?!

Anyway, this time, the little minx is wearing a T-shirt that has been described as ‘racially insensitive’.

She sported the shirt, which depicts the Confederate flag, to a party in Hollywood last night, and was probably unaware that it is considered by many to be a symbol of racism due to the flag’s links with slavery. I hope she was ignorant of this anyway!

During the 1861 to 1865 American Civil War, it was the flag of the Confederate states that supported slavery, and it now is banned by many American schools.

So it’s straight out of a drugs scandal and into a racism furore. Peaches, you’re forever telling us how intelligent you are, how much you read and that you’re a serious writer, but um, maybe you should read a book on American history. Might save you yet more trouble you could do without.

David Beckham has revealed that he will see out the rest of his footy contract at LA Galaxy because he is happy at the club.

He told David Letterman last night: ‘I will be playing for the Galaxy for the rest of the time now, for the rest of my contract. I’ve always honoured my contracts and I’ll do that with the Galaxy. After that we’ll see what happens, but I’m very happy there.’

The 34-year-old, who has a torn Achilles tendon, hobbled onto the show and talked about his injury, his contract in LA and how he hopes to go to the World Cup in South Africa as a spectator.

Becks sustained his injury while playing on loan for AC Milan and admitted that Galaxy was annoyed about it, but said it was ‘one of those things’.

And he thinks the World Cup will be a roaring success. Personally I hope David does get to go and support the England squad. With the WAGS rumoured to be banned because they’re a distraction someone’s got to up the glamour ante in South Africa. David, it’s over to you!
