Catalina’s Clever Way of Promoting Daddies Art

Posted on April 25th, 2012 at 4:10 pm by

Catalina Guirado

British Model and TV personality, Catalina Guirado has found an ingenious way of keeping her late famous father’s art estate alive.

The ex-TFI Friday and I’m a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here star inherited Juan Guirado’s art estate after he lost his long battle with cancer two years ago.

Catalina found herself in a ‘what to do next’ world, surrounded by a retrospective of incredible work and a pile of Juan’s press clippings on his accomplishments over the years.

Bravely, she decided to turn the sadness from the loss of the father into an immense positive.

Thinking outside the box, on where and how she could bring the art to a new – wider audience, Catalina developed two Juan Guirado print scarves; “Enlightenment” and “Apocalypse” based on the 2012 prophecy.

The scarves themselves are chic and affordable pieces of art, sized 35 x 35 inches and available in silk chiffon for $230 and crepe de chine for $250.

Catalina said: “I discovered my father was a revered artist (I thought he was poor and starving!), who was particularly successful in the 60s in Australia and 70s and 80s in Europe.”

She added: “Juan was one of Spain’s foremost Surrealist/Essentialist artists with books and academic papers written on his major works of the time and his work hanging in 12 museums.”

With collectors such as the King of Jordan and film director, John Schlesinger, Catalina felt compelled to continue Juan’s legacy, but knew nothing about the contemporary art world, so she threw herself into the Los Angeles art scene to learn as much as she could.

She said: “It’s strange; I feel closer to him through his death, but I feel he is with me in spirit. He always said he would truly become a famous artist when he died. I’m here to make sure of it; after all I am my father’s daughter!”

And now, Cat’s creations go beyond scarves, the innovative beauty also has a line of luxury Juan Guirado print wallpaper and pillows available, with plans to develop the scarves in multiple directions for worldwide distribution. So, watch this space for updates!

Starbecks: Victoria Spotted Blending Frappuccinos in Beijing!

Posted on April 25th, 2012 at 8:46 am by

No, this isn’t an image of Victoria Beckham (far left) before she was famous, working at a Starbucks… It’s a snap of the ex-singer turned fashion designer uploaded to Twitter earlier this week, while on a promotional trip to China.

Mrs. Becks took some time out of her busy schedule and headed to a nearby Starbucks, adding some Spice to the frappuccino’s at a Beijing shopping center.

Clearly, she just couldn’t resist blending a few coffees for the unsuspecting customers with her best pal, the top with top hairdresser Ken Paves.

Always game for a laugh, Twitter-loving Beckham didn’t stop at just role-playing, as the pair pulled up their sleeves and donned aprons, working for their iced café lattes.

She then tweeted a picture of the two of them pouring the with the words: “Who ordered the frap?”

It wasn’t long however, before the 38-year-old mum-of-four was back wearing her sexy designs, launching her limited edition Range Rover, teaming up with Hong Kong fashion importers ‘Joyce’ for the mall appearance.

Nice to see Victoria getting her hands dirty for once, though seeing her at a Starbucks coffee shop isn’t that surprising, especially after hubby David’s association with Burger King…

Amanda De Cadenet Converses with Hollywood’s A-List Woman on Lifetime!

Posted on April 19th, 2012 at 8:22 am by

AmandaDeCadenet

Could we all possibly forget Demi Moore’s troubles for one second and focus on the real reason Amanda De Cadenet and Moore were pictured together this week?

OK, so it was Moore’s first public appearance post-rehab, but more importantly it was the launch of their fantastic new venture for Lifetime Television The Conversation, hosted by De Cadenet and executive produced by Moore.

But if you are all wondering ‘who the hell is Amanda De Cadenet’, then let me fill you in a little…

This woman isn’t any newcomer to the spotlight, in fact, she herself has led a rather interesting life indeed, if anyone knows the A-Z of celebrity, it is the renowned British personality and photographer - Amanda De Cadenet…

After being chased around London nightclubs in the late eighties at the age of fourteen by just about every paparazzo known to man, and being hailed as ‘wild-child’ on the front pages, Amanda went on to marry Duran Duran bassist, John Taylor, they have a daughter together – Atlanta.

She hit the headlines again in 1995 when she accompanied wild-woman Courtney Love to the Oscars, and she is now married to The StrokesNick Valensi, with whom she has twins.

She began hosting at the tender age of sixteen, after landing a plum job in 1990 on one of Britain’s biggest pop-culture shows The Word, where she interviewed the likes of Denzel Washington and Keanu Reeves with whom she reportedly had a brief romance with.

However, De Cadenet eventually decided that her true place was behind the camera, telling stories and expressing her life’s experiences through her images.

The Conversation is poised to be groundbreaking television, each week viewers will see de Cadenet interviewing stars such as with Jane FondaLady GagaSarah SilvermanSelma HayekZoe Saldana and many, many others about everything from work to their preferred sexual positions, a question that leaves actress Gwyneth Paltrow slightly red-faced before hesitantly answering. De Cadenet truly gets to the emotional core of these trusting A-list females, thus bringing out the real person behind the red carpets and flash bulbs.

Talking about the show, De Cadenet expressed how ‘supportive’ Moore has been throughout the production, she said “I’d been doing these interviews for about a year and Demi is one of my best girlfriends and a great sounding board for me.”

She went on to praise Moore’s work, saying that Demi ‘has strived to do her very best as a producer’.

She added: “She’s got 10 years on me, and so she is more ahead of me in the game of being a woman. She is an amazing resource for me, and so she has a vast life experience that I love to experience and to hear. And so I had been doing this for a year, and at a point that it became a reality and looked like it could actually go on TV, Demi said, ‘Listen, Lifetime wants me to do something with them, but I want to do it with your thing. I really believe in what you are doing.”

This weekly series will also feature “Women on the Street” segments, in which women from all walks of life reveal their personal feelings about their lives in the world today.

It’s nice to see De Cadenet back in front of the camera, proving she is a true multi-talented woman with staying power, and it’s fair to say that this sexy, curvaceous blonde-bombshell still has more has more contacts than Lenscrafters (ahem, there’s a joke there)!

Oh, and here is a tidbit of Amanda De Cadenet trivia for you all to soak up… Did you know that Amanda and I both dated the same guy (at different times of course), er no, it wasn’t John Taylor… But let’s just say that the name ‘Moore’ has figured in Amanda’s life more than once… and I will leave it at that!

The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet premieres April 26 at 11 p.m. EST.

hosting awards show

After interviewing nearly every superstar in Tinseltown as a Hollywood correspondent for the UK media, Sandro Monetti is taking to the stage HIMSELF to spill the beans on what the big names are really like in Clooney, Cowell, Pitt and Me: Amusing Encounters with the A-List - a one-man show he has written and will perform in Los Angeles, next week.

Monetti’s past accolades include writing the biographies of actors including Mickey Rourke: Wrestling with Demons and the recent chart topping e-book Colin Firth: The Man Who Would Be King. He has also reported on stars for the BBC, Sky TV, Smash Hits, and even the now defunct News of the World! Oo-er…

Clooney, Cowell, Pitt and Me, which is directed by Craig Jessen, will have a week’s run in New York in July before Sandro heads back to Britain to perform it at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August.

From Madonna to Michael JacksonJames Stewart to Kristen Stewart, Angelina Jolie to Tom Cruise, all the icons are featured in this rollicking and affectionate look behind the velvet rope of showbiz.

The reporter turned performer said: “When people find out I interview celebrities for a living, the question I’m most often asked is ‘what’s so and so really like?’ So I created this show to answer that question.”

He added: “There is a tendency, especially here in the States, to put stars on a pedestal but despite their talent they’re all just humans like the rest of us with the same eccentricities, insecurities. Hopefully the audiences will be entertained, and come away agreeing with me, that there really is no business like showbusiness.”

The show will be staged at: Hollywood’s Lyric Theatre, 520 N. LaBrea, on Wednesday April 25 and Thursday April 26 with tickets available from www.plays411.com/encounters.

Simon Cowell Woos Britney Spears To Be An X Factor Judge!

Posted on April 11th, 2012 at 4:20 pm by

simon cowell and britney spears

It wasn’t too long ago that Britney Spears was judged mentally incapable of handling her own finances, however, she certainly seems to have pulled her life together in the last year.

Now, the word is that Spears is close to becoming a judge on Simon Cowell’s X Factor U.S.

I hear that Spears’ fiancé and agent, Jason Trawick is currently negotiating a contract believed to be worth a whopping $15 million, and that’s more than J-Lo earns on American Idol! Oo-er…

According to sources, if talks go to plan then a deal could be finalized as soon as next week.

In January, Cowell dramatically fired judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, which means if Spears joins L.A. Reid as a judge, there will still be one more spot to be filled, with LeAnn Rimes as the frontrunner after Janet Jackson turned down a big money offer to appear.

‘That’ Cowell sure knows how to pick ‘em… If Britney accepts the offer, it’ll be interesting to see how she copes with live television on a weekly basis… Surely, that is one potential worry crossing the minds of network bosses, especially with such large megabucks on the table…

So Britney, if you do take the job, NO trademark meltdowns allowed!

Emma Watson Spotted at Lynwood Jail…Good Girl Gone Bad?

Posted on April 11th, 2012 at 11:54 am by

Emma Watson

Emma Watson is known the world over for being the the ultimate English rose…a miss goody-two-shoes both on and off screen!

But the Harry Potter star has caused quite a stir after being seen hanging around outside Los Angeles infamous Lynwood jail…

Therefore, can it be… Watson turned bad girl?

Fear not fans, the beautiful young actress was merely filming her new movie, The Bling Ring, based on the real-life story of a gang of teenagers known then as the ‘bling bandits’ who burgled stars such as Orlando Bloom, Megan Fox, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan between October of 2008 through to August 2009,

21-year-old Watson plays Nicki, one of gang members and in these latest scenes she is seen wearing a very short skirt whilst checking into Lynwood jail…which happens to be the same jail where Lohan, Hilton and Nicole Richie served time!

The film is the latest project of Sofia Coppola and is set for release next year and it would appear everyone onboard is enjoying filming.

Watson wrote on Twitter last week: ‘Filming Bling Ring is going great.’

As Israel would say, ‘we are saying this!’… It sounds a far cry from her Harry Potter days and I for one cannot wait to get a glimpse of the new ‘wicked Watson’… Er, on screen as least. We wouldn’t really want her to turn bad now, would we?

Tamara Ecclestone is no stranger to a sexy photo shoot or two, but now the billionairess has her sights set on the ultimate goal in the lads-mag market… Playboy!

The daughter of Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, and sister of Petra, who recently acquired Spelling Manor for a whopping $85 million, has revealed that if Hugh Hefner approached her bare all, then she would seriously consider setting hearts-a-racing in a spread for Playboy.

Tamara said: “I’ve done lad mag shoots and I would love to do something like that again… I think doing Playboy is one of those things that probably not that many people would be asked to do it.”

“You might only get asked to do it once and actually so many amazing people have done it, so why not? I’ve been thinking about it and I probably would.”

The gorgeous 27-year-old also stated that, if the Playboy opportunity arose, she would probably come under a lot of criticism, however, this would not faze her one bit.

She added: “I have heard so many sh***y things said about me that honestly I don’t care any more”…

Well Hef, its over to you!

Craig Young

No folks, this is not a rehash of an old story, but an interesting twist to a new one…

NCIS: Los Angeles fans will be thrilled to know that their favorite baddie Dracul Comescu is alive and well, hiding out in Honolulu… Betcha didn’t know that!

In the last season of NCIS: LA, Comescu, played by British actor Craig Robert Young, was the last surviving member of a corrupt Romanian crime family who escaped the clutches of agents G. Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) after going on the run to Hawaii.

Cue the Hawaii Five-O theme tune!

Now, in a clever attempt to capture both audiences, NCIS: LA – the number two highest-rated scripted show on U.S television has teamed up with hit series Hawaii Five-O, bringing back Dracul Comescu with a plot involving a virus outbreak which will potentially be weaponized. And beyond telling you that, my lips are super-glued!

O’Donnell and Cool J (inset pic) will appear on “Five-O” for one episode, while in a separate episode, Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim - pictured) and Danny Williams (Scott Caan) will star on “NCIS.”

The crossover occurs over two episodes in late April thru early May, during sweeps week when networks collect data on a shows’ popularity and determine its future.

Show-runner Peter Lenkov revealed that the characters are already familiar with each other: “Chris and LL are going to come to Hawaii . . . There’s a bit of history there.”

Craig Robert Young’s popular character is sure to get his comeuppance on “Five-O” and finally viewers will see this nail-biting saga come to and end once and for all… Or will they?

Young’s spokesperson, Louisa Spring confirmed, “Yes, Craig is returning to the role and the script is amazing, but I can’t say anymore than that.”

Tune in to Hawaii Five-O Monday, April 30, 9/10 c.
