Kate Beckinsale, Emily Blunt and Colin Firth Attend Stephen Merchant’s Hello Ladies!

The Brits were out in force last night to support funnyman Stephen Merchant (right inset pic) as he brought his hit comedy show, Hello Ladies to Hollywood,

It was also date night for attendees, actresses Kate Beckinsale and Emily Blunt who both had their American hubbies Len Wiseman and John Krasinki in tow.

Actor Colin Firth completed the star-studded gathering, playing third wheel as he walked into the Beverly Hills’ Coronet Theatre with Emily and John.

‘Hello Ladies’ is about Merchant’s lack of success with the women, despite his many awards and critical acclaim. His reasons, according to Merchant include his tightfistedness and his pedantry, and because of his gawky and lanky 6ft 7 inch frame, and, as with his BBC2 sitcom Life’s Too Short, he delivers plenty of funny and very physical material from his unusually ginormous stature.

Some of his battle-of-the-sexes gags wear thin at times; as does his routine on the glibness of text message speak.

However, a finale in which he re-enacts an old GCSE drama play on issues of prejudice is a showstopper, using his unsubtle teenage self as a license to be gleefully un-PC. This hints of a far more mischievous Merchant lying just around the corner… So Hollywood, watch out!

Merchant, known for his collaborations with funnyman Ricky Gervais, who hosted the Golden Globes last Sunday, spoke about the difference between English and American audiences.

Earlier this week he told the Los Angeles Times, “In England, the audience can be quite surly at times,’

‘You can walk on and you get the feeling that they are sitting with their arms crossed sort of, “Yeah, listen. It was raining, we had to park the car, so this better be funny mate.”

He added, “American audiences just seemed much more enthusiastic. like ‘Yay! It’s great, it’ll be fun! Let’s enjoy.”

I give ‘Hello Ladies’ 5 stars and a BIG thumbs up, well done to Merchant, for managing to slap us full-force in the mush with this incredibly original piece of comedy… Go see it!

Peaches Geldof’s First Look Baby Bump Pics!

As mother-to-be, Peaches Geldof proudly showed off her baby bump for the first time since breaking the news about her pregnancy, she revealed she had yet more news to tell us… Not only is she expecting a boy but also the child is expected to be born on her late mother Paula Yates‘ birthday, April 24th.

Peaches was only 11-years-old when writer and broadcaster Yates died of a heroin overdose in September of 2000. Now 22, she said: “I feel like it’s a little wink from my mum, her way of sending a message to let me know that she’s watching over me and my baby.”

Peaches also added that her father, Sir Bob Geldof was ‘overwhelmed and emotional’ when she told him that she was pregnant. However, she did confess that she kept it a secret from him and everyone else for almost five months!

Speaking about her father’s reaction, the model and Showtime presenter told Hello magazine; “Oh my God, he was so happy, especially as I’m having a boy. The poor man’s been surrounded by women up till now.”

She also mentioned how Sir Bob had given fiancé Tom Cohen, the seal of approval, and said out of all her boyfriends, Tom was his favorite.

Always a good thing to be on your father-in-laws good side, especially if your father-in-law is Bob Geldof!

“He told us we must never break up; that we must make our child happy, get married and be together forever.” The world has been listening to Bob for decades, so I am sure Peaches and Tom will too, we wish the couple all the best!

British Actor Jared Harris Celebrated the Golden Globes Silverspoon Style!

Awards season was in full swing in Hollywood last week, and where there are awards shows, there are parties…

Screen International and the Silverspoon Lifestyle Group recently sponsored one such star-studded pre-Golden Globes party at the Silverspoon venue on Sunset Boulevard to honor the prestigious awards ceremony and award nominees on Friday, January 13th.

The most Notable guest of the evening included Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows star Jared Harris who arrived with his longtime girlfriend Allegra Riggio (pictured), actress Adria Tennor from the Golden Globe winning film The Artist, Jessica Parker Kennedy from the movie 50/50. And one very ‘showbiz’ moment was when I spotted Burlesque director, Steven Antin chatting to Glee’s Damian McGinty (inset) and lead actor Liam McIntyre from the hit series Spartacus.

Nigel Day, the US Editor of Screen International, and Levon Minosian, the founder and CEO of Silverspoon Lifestyle Group, were also on hand at the event. The lively crowd enjoyed delicious appetizers provided by Romanov Restaurant, washed down with cocktails, and champagne as they sang and danced the night away to music provided by DJ Emma Ford.

Diamonds Are Simon’s Best Friend. Zeta Graff Canoodles with Cowell…

Simon Cowell added a touch of sparkle to his sunshine break in the Caribbean yesterday, in the shape of Greek jewelry designer Zeta Graff.

The X Factor boss, 52, enjoyed a cozy laugh and a joke with the 39-year-old Los Angeles based owner of luxury brand ZG Jewelry, aboard a 30 million pound yacht off the island of St Barts.

Graff and Cowell spent a few hours sunbathing on the deck lounging around on a cream leather sofa, drinking iced mineral water as they covered themselves in tanning lotion.

They set tongues a-wagging when they would occasionally lean up close to one another whispering in each others ears, suggesting there was a little more going on than ‘just friends’.

One close source said: “Simon has known Zeta for many years and the pair have remained in touch, they are very close.” 

Another source added: “Zeta fits in really well with his gang and she makes him laugh. They have a real giggle together.” 

Joining them on board the luxury Slipstream yacht was Cowell’s ex-girlfriend Sinitta, Lauren Silverman and her husband Andrew Silverman.

Zeta, who starred in The Fifth Element – has a 19-year-old son Laurence with diamond heir husband Francois Graff, whom she divorced in 2003 and won a £10m settlement in the split.

She has been linked to a host of Hollywood stars since, including Paris Hilton’s ex-boyfriend Paris Latsis and actor Val Kilmer.

Peaches Geldof is Pregnant!

Socialite and part-time model Peaches Geldof has announced that she and fiancé Thomas Cohen are expecting their first child together.

The 22-year-old, who has been married once before to musician Max Drummey, got engagement to Cohen last month, after the pair had been dating for a year.

In a statement issued today, Peaches’ spokeswoman, who broke the news confirmed: “Peaches Geldof and her fiancé Thomas Cohen are delighted to announce that Peaches is pregnant with their first child.

“Peaches is utterly thrilled and they have the full support of both of their families who are equally excited for the baby’s arrival.”

Peaches, has grown up in the media spotlight has carved out a niche presenting a number of youth TV programmes including Peaches Geldof: Teenage Mind and A Beginner’s Guide To Islam.

Her father is musician Bob Geldof, while her mother, Big Breakfast presenter Paula Yates, died from an accidental heroin overdose in 2000, at the age of 40.

I hope that this will see the end of young Geldof’s wild-child partying ways…For now at least!

Katy Perry Spotted Enjoying Christmas WITHOUT Hubby Russell Brand!

How could Russell Brand leave his sexy wife at Christmas?

However, by the looks of it, singer Katy Perry didn’t seem to care as she showed off splashing around on her festive break, while Russell enjoyed himself with friends in Cornwall, nearly 7,000 miles away!

This leaves us all to speculate whether trouble is brewing for the couple as witnesses spotted Russell on the Cornish coast, while Katy frolicked on a sunny Hawaiian beach.

Not exactly what one would expect from a pair of newlyweds… Now, close sources are coming forward to add their two cents to the growing rumors of a split.

One said, “Katy and Russell are just in two very different places right now with their lives.” Adding,  “Their marriage is not working out. He’s in recovery and really trying to stay clean, but her lifestyle isn’t helping him at all.”

The duo is both known for their eccentric behavior; Katy has said in the past that she wants to have children, but is not quite ready yet; she still loves to party and wants to wait a bit. However, a friend of Russell’s recently admitted that the funnyman would love to start a family and feels ready. Hmm, not a perfect situation…

Nevertheless, despite such damning reports the couple may still patch things up according to the source. ”The split may come soon,” then warned. “But they are both so dramatic and volatile, the relationship could become great again.”

Well, I certainly hope the pair of them works things out… Maybe all this is just one big ol’ brouhaha, and Russell just fancied a traditional Christmas dinner in the country… Although, if were him I wouldn’t be staying away for too long, Katy is looking hot, hot, hot and having far too much fun if this picture is anything to go by!

Jason’s Ex – Kelly Brook Doesn’t Look Too Bad Either!

And while on the subject of Jason Statham, his ex – Kelly Brook gave us all some Christmas cheer when she tweeted this picture of herself dressed in a sexy Santa outfit last weekend, with the words: “Look what came down the chimney. Ho ho ho.”

Although, not a supermodel with a blockbuster movie career under her belt, our Kelly did us proud, looking super fit as she posed by her Christmas tree with a sack of goodies over her shoulder… No prizes for guessing whom the pressies might be for, eh Thom Evans?!

Perhaps 2012 will bring Kelly even more success, however, I reckon it’s high time she got her buns back to Hollywood, and pronto!

Hot Couple Alert! But Sexy Rosie Towers Over Hunky Jason!

I reckon Jason Statham could list many positives from having a girlfriend such as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley…

She is gorgeous for one; in fact, she is probably one of the sexiest women in showbiz… A Victoria’s Secret model with an acting career that received a massive boost in the shape of blockbuster movie, Transformers 3 earlier this year and she is 20-years younger than Jason… The list is endless!

Nevertheless, it seems when the lovely Rosie slips into a pair of high heels, the major disadvantages become very apparent, as the sexy blonde towers over her action man…

Photogs spotted the pair as they stepped out for a romantic Boxing Day lunch in Malibu, and Rosie was noticeably taller than her boyfriend.

The British couple stands roughly about the same height, both are 5’9, but with the added inches gained in those chic suede boots Rosie is wearing, it certainly made the difference.

However, if this were the only downside to dating stunning Rosie, then I would have to say that is not too much to complain about…

At a guess, I’d say Jason might well be saying the exact same thing, despite looking shorter, the 44-year-old press-shy hunk looked equally as hot as he strutted his stuff next to his lovely leggy lady…

Anyway, who in their right minds would care about a few extra inches when you have the gorgeous Rosie Huntington-Whiteley walking beside you, arm in arm  at Christmas time!
