John Simm’s ‘The Master’ Returns to Doctor Who!

Posted on June 22nd, 2017 at 7:21 am by

John Simm is returning as The Master in this Saturday’s Doctor Who, and I can now we reveal more about his return and provide readers with a brief rundown on the history of the evil Time Lord… Who-er!

Doctor Who’s tenth series has been called one of the show’s best in recent history, many fans thoroughly enjoying Peter Capaldi’s final outing as the iconic Timelord.

The BBC has released the trailer for ‘World Enough and Time’ — the eleventh episode of the season — featuring Simm’s Master’s return. “Give us a kiss,” the newly goatee’d character says after a montage of clips heavily featuring Michelle Gomez’s incarnation of The Master.

I must quickly point out though, there’s a welcome return for two classic foes of The Doctor when the two-part series finale kicks off this weekend.

It will see the Doctor and Bill played by Pearl Mackie facing the original and menacing Mondasian Cyberman, while Missy meets The Master, played again by John Simm for the first time since 2010.

The Doctor and co arrive on a huge spaceship that’s 400 miles long and 100 miles wide and about to be sucked into a massive black hole. Viewers will find out far more about The Master’s earlier history with The Doctor over the two epsiodes, and The Master is in particularly menacing form.

“Thanks to the power of time travel I’m back as The Master,” said John Simm. “It’s always a pleasure to work with this great team of people and I can’t wait for fans to see what The Master gets up to.”

The shock return inevitably means the Master comes face to face with Missy, even though they’re the same person. As fans will know, Missy is a later incarnation of the Time Lord after he regenerated into her.

As both are time travellers, it’s led to the two incarnations finally meeting up, something which executive producer Steven Moffat, who’s written this adventure, had been keen to make happen for a long time, “I’d always thought it would be fun to have a story where two versions of the Master meet,” he said. “It’s not often you get to see a solo personality clash between characters, and it’s been a huge pleasure to have fan favourites John Simm and Michelle Gomez face to face in the same role.”

Can’t wait to watch!

John Simm can be seen back in Doctor Who on BBC1 and BBC America this Saturday.

Adele and Celine Dion Plan Secret Duet Together?

Posted on June 21st, 2017 at 7:21 am by

Two of the pop world’s biggest pop superstars may be teaming up to duet together – and if true, I cannot wait.

The rumor currently swirling is that Celine Dion has reportedly met up with Adele while in London for her UK tour to discuss the possibility of singing together. Oo-er!

Can you imagine?

Would they begin with Hello? Maybe follow with That’s The Way It Is? End with Someone Like You before breaking our hearts again with My Heart Will Go On?

Pop fans may errupt with excitment… I know I would!

‘Adele made the trip to meet her idol and the music legends both embraced in a private room backstage before the gig and told each other how much they loved each other,’ a source has revealed of the moments before Dion took the O2 Arena stage on Tuesday night.

However the source added that although the conversation was friendly, Adele would be too terrified of singing live with Dion to make the moment come true.

Speaking to The Sun, the insider added: ‘Adele said she would love to sing with her on stage at some point but she would be too scared.’

Later on stage, performing to a sold out crowd, Dion spoke to Adele, who was sat in the crowds: ‘I want to move here. If I do, do you think if I move here I can meet Adele and you can help fix this for me.’

The source also claimed that the twosome discussed teaming up during their backstage meet up, just months after Adele presented Dion with an award at the 2017 Grammys.

The latest speculation comes shortly after Celine admitted during an appearance on British TV show Lorraine earlier this year that she wants to do a duet with the singer and even challenged her to a team-up.

‘I was wondering if you can sing a song with me. Anywhere, any time,’ Celine told Adele through the TV.

Ischia Fest to Honor Lily Collins for New Netflix Film ‘To the Bone’!

Posted on June 15th, 2017 at 8:31 am by

The good news winging its way to my ears is that ‘To the Bone‘ a film starring British actress Lily Collins (daughter of rock star Phil Collins) will have its European premiere at the fest… Oo-er!

The Ischia Global Film and Music Festival will present the European premiere of the film on July 15.

Collins will be on hand to accept the festi’s ‘Rising Star’ award at the Regina Isabella’s outdoor theater by the sea.

Co-star Alex Sharp will also be honored with Ischia’s breakout actor award.

To the Bone, which originally debuted at Sundance and was picked up by Netflix, stars Collins as Ellen, a young girl with anorexia, with Sharp playing her confidante.

Keanu Reeves also stars as the doctor who challenges Ellen to face her disease head-on. Marti Noxon wrote and directed the film, inspired by her own struggles with anorexia. AMBI Group’s Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi produced alongside Bonnie Curtis, Karina Miller and Julie Lynn.

“To the Bone poignantly deals with a subject that affects so many young women in our society and highlights two very talented young actors — Lily Collins and Alex Sharp — who are indeed rising stars on the world stage,” said the festival’s honorary chair Mark Canton

Netflix circles back to Ischia after Ted Sarandos met with the Italian film industry there in 2015 before officially launching the streaming service in the country in October of that year.

“After much controversy at the Cannes Film Festival over the participation there of movies meant directly for streaming rather than playing in cinemas, we are glad to announce the return of Netflix to Ischia and to continuing the debate on this important topic,” said festival director Pascal Vicedomini.

“This is also a chance to reintroduce Ted Sarandos and the great global players that will be attending our festival to the many production opportunities of Campania and Italy in general.” Netflix will launch its first Italian-language series, Suburra, later this year.

The Ischia Global Film and Music Festival takes place July 9-16 off the coast of Naples.

Gordon Ramsey’s £200-a-night hotel is £13million in the RED!

Posted on June 15th, 2017 at 6:47 am by

Oh Gord… This is a real life Hotel Hell for Ramsey…

The British chef who hosts top US TV show ‘Hotel Hell‘ that irons out flaws in struggling hotels is having his own living nightmare!

I hear the television star’s upmarket York and Albany hotel and restaurant in London lost £882,000 last year.  That brings the total debt for Ramsay (York and Albany) Ltd to £13million in just eight years. Oo-bloody-er!

Part of the problem, it would appear, is that he signed a deal guaranteeing to pay £640,000 a year rent.

The hotel, in trendy Camden, north London, has been voted a disappointing 651 out of the 1,066 hotels in the capital on TripAdvisor.

Of the 297 reviews on TripAdvisor, 57 were average – with 37 rating it poor and 27 saying it was plain terrible.

One user wrote: “Ironic that Mr R is doing a programme called Hotel Hell. Mr R should start with his own place! Wouldn’t go back.”

Another commented: “Ironic that Mr R is doing a programme called Hotel Hell. Mr R should start with his own place!

“Small dismal bog standard room, nothing like the ones on the website which boasts.

“The sink tap just spluttered cold water and the shower ran constantly cold.”

And one disgruntled guest went so far as to say: “Breakfast was horrible ordered full English which appeared in about two minutes flat – obviously all pre-cooked and kept tepid while a choice of eggs was added – just nasty. Staff couldn’t care less.”

Last year, a spokesman for the star stressed that guest feedback was welcomed and taken seriously ‘across all ourproperties’.

He added: “The York & Albany enjoys a strong online rating with the majority of TripAdvisor reviews having rated it as either ‘Excellent’ or ‘Very Good’.”

Sources close to Ramsay insisted the £13 million shown as liabilities in the accounts was cash earmarked for investment in his long term financial plans.

The financial results for the hotel show the onerous impact of the £640,000-a-year rent on the York & Albany’s results.

But a spokeswoman for Gordon Ramsay Holdings said: “Overall the group is performing well and returned profits in the latest financial year.”

A spokesman for Mr Ramsay was last night approached for comment.

However, no reply yet!

Victoria Beckham Working the Cool Pyjama Vibe!

Posted on June 8th, 2017 at 9:42 am by

Victoria Beckham looked more like “ready-for-bed” than “ready-to-wear” as she stepped out in a pyjama-style outfit in New York.

The fashion designer who is known for her love of oversized outfits despite her slim physique, cut a cool figure as she strolled through the Big Apple on Wednesday wearing a loose-fitting sky blue pyjama set from her SS18 resort collection.

The style maven wore the white and blue checked set undone at the neck, teamed them with a pair of nude-toned sandals and her signature statement sunglasses.

The two-piece looked remarkably like what many mere mortals sleep in on a nightly basis, but Victoria elevated the look with a pair of nude heels and square designer sunglasses.

With a hand in one pocket as she strode out of her hotel, the 43-year-old looked cool, calm and collected as she set off for another busy day in the fashion state.

Victoria is currently in the city to showcase her Spring/Summer 2018 collection, and shared her excitement with fans on social media.

She wrote on Twitter: “Excited to be in New York to preview my ready-to-wear collection! x VB”.

Victoria has certainly put on a colourful display while in the city, having stepped out in a tangerine outfit earlier in the day.

Louis Tomlinson Signs with Simon Cowell For First Solo Album!

Posted on June 8th, 2017 at 9:19 am by

Louis Tomlinson has signed an 18-month record contract with Simon Cowell, making him the ONLY One Direction star to remain loyal to the X Factor judge who found them fame in 2010. Oo-er!

‘I’m very happy to have signed. I’m excited to be continuing my relationship with Syco, and also working with the brilliant team at RCA in the US,’ said Tomlinson.

The singer released his debut solo single, Just Hold On, a collaboration with Steve Aoki, in December and launched the song on The X Factor with the help of the Simon.

‘I’ve been working really hard in the studio and can’t wait to show you what I’ve been writing.’

Speaking to The Sun, the 25-year-old added: ‘As always, I’d like to thank the fans for their unbelievable support.’

His One Direction bandmates – Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne – all decided to sign contracts with other labels, with Payne to Capitol Records, Horan to Universal, Styles with Columbia, and ex-bandmate Zayn Malik signing to RCA Records.

Cowell had previously admitted he was expecting a phone call from the boys for help with their careers post-One Direction – only it never came.

‘I hear so many things now, which they’re doing, which I’m not involved with. It’s a bit like I’m getting the hint you don’t want me to come to the party. Sorry for making you famous,’ he said.

A label insider also added that it was ‘no secret Simon was upset when the other guys went to different labels but he has always been closest to Louis’.

‘They have worked together very closely in the past 18 months on various projects, so staying loyal was a no-brainer for him,’ they added.

Everyone’s Talking About Caroline and Claire’s New Show ‘Brits in the Wood’!

Posted on May 31st, 2017 at 8:10 am by

I’m sure by now you’ve all heard about – Brits in the Wood. I mean seriously, this show is the “new, new”, everyone wants to be on it.

But who’s behind it?  Well, being a ‘Brit in the Wood’ myself, I had to find out!

A few weeks back I had chance to hang out with the fabulously talented hosts of ‘Brits in the Wood’ when they asked me round to the ‘Brits in the Wood’ studio for a bit of a chinwag…

And of course I got the scoop on the hot two blondes – top broadcaster Caroline Feraday and journalist Claire Bullivant, who met (in true Brit style) in the pub to form what is fast becoming the popular podcast that everyone’s talking about.

‘It was about three and a half years ago now,’  Caroline tells me, ‘And Claire has been nagging me for that long to do a podcast with her.’

‘Even before I properly met Caroline, I just remember her being so witty. She kept cracking funny one-liners throughout a pub quiz we both go to at the Pikey on Sunset Blvd. She was always so vivacious, funny and has the most amazing voice –  I just knew she’d the perfect podcast hosting partner,’ added Claire.

From there on Caroline and Claire built up a firm friendship, which you can hear in their on-air partnership as they chat to celebrity names and industry insiders on their popular weekly ‘Brits in the Wood’ podcast. They say their aim is to discover what it takes to live the dream and make it in LA by talking to those that have done just that.

Bullivant has been a ‘Brit in the Wood’ (aka Hollywood) – for ten years after first moving here with her now ex-husband who was doing his MBA at the University of Southern California at the time. She started her career as a journalist and magazine feature writer but is also a screenwriter with four romantic comedies under her belt.

After leading a busy life working as a journalist and running the magazine division of our family business – Bullivant Media Claire arrived in LA not knowing anyone.

She said, I came here not knowing a soul and when my ex started his MBA, I found myself all alone in this new big city, twiddling my thumbs a little.

She went on, “I’d always been so busy in the UK. So after a few weeks of getting a great tan I decided I couldn’t lay out by the pool forever and instead dived into LA life.”

“First, I set up a social group for all the other MBA partners who were here and we’d go out and explore all that LA has to offer. The partners club was so successful I even got a mention at the MBA graduation ceremony!

She said, ‘It kind of became a passion of mine – helping people get acclimatized and promoting all that LA has to offer. A podcast was just the next logical step,’

‘Whether you want to be an actor, a pop star, a comedian, a screenwriter… everyone who moves here goes through a fascinating journey. It’s brave coming to a new country and starting anew but it’s also so exciting. LA is magical if you put yourself out there,’ Claire explained.

‘We hope to offer inspiring insights, a bit of laughter and an entertaining and informative hour for our listeners – and to show them a little bit of that LA magic… that ‘anything is possible’ American philosophy,’ continues Caroline.

Well-known broadcaster Caroline has been in Tinseltown for four years, but first came here in 2001 for her then BBC Radio Five Live show, and in 2002 for GMTV for a stint as their West Coast correspondent. She started her career at Capital Radio London alongside Chris TarrantNeil Fox and Tony Blackburn.

A journalist, and a DJ so she was sent up in the Flying Eye daily for six years, and had her own shows like the London Chart, and Early Breakfast and Dance show. She was snapped up for national talk station Five Live and then London’s LBC where she hosted Drivetime 4-7pm on weekdays. Caroline’s voice is familiar not just from the radio, but also from thousands of commercials on television and in movie theatres, from X-Box to Sketchers to Mail on Sunday to Citroen cars. Oo-er, this girl’s done it all!

On screen, she hosted her own shows on VH-1 and Sky One, and has anchored BBC News and Sky News. Caroline’s also appeared on ITV’s This Morning and Titchmarsh many times and major live shows on Sky One including Celebrity World Cup and the Fifpro Awards. She won an award from Prince Philip for journalism and was credited by Women’s Own magazine as being the woman who took on Anne Robinson and won, during a Celebrity episode of The Weakest Link.

Caroline certainly has a sharp wit, which led to her being called the ‘funniest woman I’ve ever met’ by comic Frank Skinner, and between her and Claire they create a relaxed atmosphere which gets the most of their stellar guests.

‘We’ve had some amazing names on the show already,’ says Caroline, ‘Mostly Brits who are doing their thing in Hollywood but also people we think will be interesting to Brits who want to know what it’s like to live here – for instance we had the head monologue writer for Conan O’Brien on the show. He’s very funny in his own right, obviously, but also knows what it takes to do a gig like that for 14 years.’

Caroline adds, ‘We had a wish list of big names we wanted – from Chesney Hawkes to Mr. C from the Shamen to Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet – it’s rare to get them to do interviews and we were really lucky… afterwards they not only said how much they enjoyed coming on the show, but said they felt so relaxed that they really opened up. People do seem to tell us things, it can be most eye-opening.’

‘We’d really like Bradley Cooper and Channing Tatum on soon… let’s hope they read this and get in touch!’ adds Claire with a glint in her eye

The podcasts are just under an hour long, so the perfect length to download and keep as a regular subscription to listen to in the car whilst stuck in LA traffic. Fans of the show, and there are many already, say how much they enjoy hearing the British banter.

‘We aren’t doing a show solely for Brits in Hollywood – although we know they will get a lot out of it, but we are more aware that we are fish out of water in this town so we call it “popping on Brit-tinted spectacles” and then taking a look at this crazy town through those,’ we spend a lot of time puzzled by it,’ explains Caroline.

‘Well, I do – Claire is the nicest person ever and so positive and loves it here so she always reminds me of the good sides of being here… I just come in griping about some lunatic on the road,’ she said.

Colin Firth Applies For Italian Citizenship!

Posted on May 25th, 2017 at 7:07 am by

I hear actor Colin Firth wants to become Italian. O0-er!

The 56-year-old British star has applied to the Italian embassy in London for citizenship following the United Kingdom’s decision in 2016 to leave the European Union, which is commonly referred to as Brexit.

A source told the Daily Mail: “Colin was horrified by Brexit and is worried about the consequences.”

The Oscar-winning actor is married to Italian film producer Livia Giuggioli and Colin speaks her mother tongue fluently.

Colin – who has children Luca, 16, and Matteo, 13 – currently lives in London with his wife, but has previously criticised the decision to leave the European Union following a referendum last year.

Colin said: “For me this is a disaster of unexpected proportions. Brexit does not have a single positive aspect.

“Many colleagues, including Emma Thompson, are, like me, enthusiastic Europeans, and we still cannot believe it.”

What’s more, Colin has previously claimed he doesn’t feel rooted in the United Kingdom, either.

The acclaimed performer – who was raised in the village of Grayshott in Hampshire, England – explained in 2010: “I don’t feel planted here. I feel very connected to America. My mother grew up there and I spent a year in high school in the US. Growing up, I felt almost American in lots of ways.”

Colin will be able to retain his British passport even if he is awarded Italian citizenship, because both countries permit dual nationality, unlike other European Union countries like Germany.

A spokesman for the actor explained: “Colin applied for dual citizenship (British and Italian) in order to have the same passports as his wife and children.”

However, his spokesman declined to comment on whether Colin’s decision was motivated directly by the United Kingdom’s impending exit from the European Union.

It is what it is Colin… I think you are “over thinking” it. In any case there’s always the USA!

Shocked face!
