Is Andrew Garfield Showing LA’s Paparazzi How To Dance?!
Posted on January 17th, 2011 at 6:05 pm by

If this picture were anything to go by I’d say Andrew Garfield fancies himself as a contender for next season’s Dancing with the Stars.
Garfield was nominated in the best supporting actor category at Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards for starring in The Social Network, losing out to Christian Bale for his role in The Fighter.
However, he seemed content enough doing what looked like the Irish Jig on the pavement outside LA’s prestigious Chateau Marmont.
We’re not sure if the actor had a few too many to drink, but judging from these action shots Garfield was happily dancing the night away, or maybe he was showing the paparazzi a few of his Spider-man moves… Or perhaps the star just simply slipped over in the street…
Yeah, I reckon it was probably more likely to be that… And they say the camera never lies!
The Winners (and Losers) of the 2011 Golden Globe Awards!
Posted on January 16th, 2011 at 11:43 pm by

I thought the 2011 Golden Globes was a roaring success, hosted once again by Ricky Gervais, who kicked off the event with some great commentary on some of the more terrible nominees like The Tourist. However, this year the British funnyman barely managed to walk the fine line between some totally offensive jokes to laughworthy quips.
On top of that we were often left wondering why Gervais would inexplicably disappear for huge chunks of time, unlike in 2010 when his presence seemed to dominate the podium for most of the whole show.
Had Ricky seriously pi**ed somebody off this time around?! I think so…
Even my pal, CNN’s Piers Morgan tweeted curiously:“Gervais not seen for an hour now. #whatthehellhappened.” Followed up by: “Where is Ricky Gervais? Seriously.”
Perhaps it was this comment that might have him in hot water with some of Hollywood’s elite, when he said: “Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor - two heterosexual actors pretending to be gay, so the complete opposite of some famous scientologists then,” Gervais said before adding, “My lawyers helped me with the wording of that joke. They’re not here.”
You could hear the shock reaction pouring from the audience as they gasped at his slanderous humor. Gervais is a very funny guy indeed, but attacking religion or sexuality should never be up for laughs, I personally feel he went a bit too far this time. I had visions of the comedian being reprimanded backstage for his unwarranted remarks, at least that would explain his disappearing act!
After Gervais finally returned to our screens appearing slightly ‘subdued’ Piers continued his tweeting with, “Re Ricky “MIA” Gervais – blimey, hope this isn’t what they do to all Brits on TV in America. #bitesnails.” Well, let’s certainly hope not, eh Piers!
The big winner of the night was The Social Network, picking up four awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Score.
Glee stole the show on the TV side, taking home Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical, while Jane Lynch and Chris Colfer received best supporting actress and actor wins.
Robert De Niro accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement from Matt Damon for his performances in movies such as Taxi Driver, The Godfather, Part II and Goodfellas. The actor joked that his less noted films such as Frankenstein, Jacknife, and Little Fockers were missing from the presentation reel.
Michael Douglas looked well on the road to recovery and received a standing ovation as he took to the stage to present the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Drama.
Douglas, pictured (right) posing with his gorgeous wife Catherine Zeta Jones, and another happy couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, won huge laughs from the audience when he joked about his warm reception, he said: “There’s got to be an easier way to get a standing ovation.
Thank you all very much. I’m really very, very happy to be here tonight.”
Aww, and we were happy to see you there too Michael!

Paris’ Spring Break… Hilton Returns to Reality TV!
Posted on January 14th, 2011 at 7:25 am by

While her aunties Kim and Kyle Richards enjoy fame on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, their ‘little’ niece Paris Hilton has finally shed some light on her new upcoming reality series.
We’ve seen a few snap shots and heard the rumors, but now its finally been announced that The World According to Paris, will hit our TV screens this spring on the Oxygen network.
In a recent interview my pal Paris said the show will be less about partying and focus more on her actual day-to-day life… Hmm, surely a day to day ‘according to Hilton’ won’t be your typical day but definitely well worth watching, I’d say.
The reality star also revealed the show will feature her relationship with current beau Cy Waits. However, Paris states Waits isn’t the most comfortable person in front of the camera: “He’s really camera shy,” she said. “He wasn’t really wild about the idea in the beginning, but he loves me so much he’ll do anything for me!”
I reckon Cy needs to cure his camera shyness and pronto. He’s going out with a girl who lives her life in front of the lens, this leaves no time to be self-effacing, Mr. Waits… Suck it in; otherwise I fear this relationship is as doomed as all the rest!
I’m looking forward to seeing how this one unfolds…
Keira Knightley and Rupert Friend Split!
Posted on January 13th, 2011 at 4:36 pm by

Two of Britain’s brightest young stars, Keira Knightley and Rupert Friend, have parted ways. Knightley’s father recently confirmed the breakup news to The Sun when he revealed: “Yes, they have broken up. But that’s the way things go, unfortunately. The only option is to get on with things.”
Mr. Knightley added: “They were together for quite a long time and it is always hard breaking up. She’s focused on her work.” The primary reason for the split has not been confirmed.
The actors first met in 2005 on the set of their movie Pride and Prejudice in which Knightley played Elizabeth Bennett and Friend portrayed Mr. Wickham. Both thespians have continued to establish respectable acting careers with Knightley starring in features like Never Let Me Go and Friend starring in pictures such as The Young Victoria. The couple persistently kept their relationship out of the public eye and both continue to avoid discussing their love lives in interviews.
As Keira’s father quite simply stated, breakups are in fact always hard. It appears that Keira and Rupert were not meant to be; however, hopefully life will imitate Jane Austen art and the two will go on to find their respective true loves after splitting not unlike their Pride and Prejudice characters Ms. Bennet and Mr. Wickham.
Dannii Minogue Wants Wedding Before Turning 40 and Having More Kids!
Posted on January 12th, 2011 at 1:59 pm by

The pressure to propose is on for Kris Smith, the British father of Dannii Minogue’s six-month-old son Ethan. Minogue apparently wants a wedding ring on her finger before she turns 40 in October of this year. She also wants to walk down the aisle before giving baby Ethan any new brothers or sisters.
A source close to The X Factor judge, while speaking to Closer magazine, recently said: “[Minogue] is keen to be married or engaged with another baby on the way before she turns 40 in October.”
The insider revealed: “[Minogue and Smith] have been casually discussing their future and marriage for ages. He’s the one wanting more kids and the family home, but she’s beginning to wonder if a wedding is even on his agenda now. It’s very much on hers, so while she’s dropped a few hints, she doesn’t want to force him.”
Smith apparently wants to have more children, but is not rushing to get married as the source added: “Kris has been saying things like, ‘There’s no rush’ or, ‘Why change what’s so perfect now?’ Dannii knows he loves her – but she is looking to make it official. Her family keep dropping big hints too.”
It seems like the marriage factor is putting strain on Dannii’s and Kris’s relationship. I reckon Kris should not wait too long to pop the question because otherwise he might get popped in the head.
Bond is Back!
Posted on January 11th, 2011 at 2:01 pm by

James Bond fans rejoice! One of the longest running film franchises in history will continue! MGM has set an official release date of November 9th, 2012 for a new James Bond movie, as first reported by Deadline Hollywood.
Perhaps the best part of the news is that actor Daniel Craig will once again carry the license to kill. As SBGLA previously reported, Kate Winslet’s ex, Sam Mendes, will direct the film. The screenplay for the 23rd Bond movie has reportedly already been written, but the plot is being kept confidential.
Principal production of the action flick is scheduled to commence toward the end of 2011. In light of MGM’s restructuring after its merger with Spyglass Entertainment, the film does not yet have a distributor. It looks as though four Hollywood studios, Fox, Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., and Sony will enter into a bidding war for the distribution rights.
This will possibly be Craig’s final outing as 007 so hopefully it will be a memorable film. It sounds like it is time for Q to get all of his best gadgets ready to go!
Orlando’s Bank Account to Bloom!
Posted on January 11th, 2011 at 5:05 am by

News straight out of Middle Earth… Orlando Bloom will be back playing Legolas in the eagerly awaited movie, The Hobbit.
We’re told Bloom will adorn his long blonde locks and bow one more time to reprise his role as the elf…well for a two minute cameo anyway.
The film’s director Peter Jackson, the man that behind the Lord of the Rings, will reunite Orlando with his fellow co-stars Elijah Wood and Dominic Monaghan, in what will no doubt be another epic tale.
The movie will be released in two instalments with the first coming in this December. Sources say that Bloom will earn more than one million dollars for the brief appearance, which works out around a little over eight thousand dollars a second… A priceless cameo! I guess I’m in the wrong job… I for one am a huge LOTR fan and can’t wait to see this one; they were truly missed at Christmas!
Posh is Preggers!

The wonderful news that David and Victoria Beckham are expecting their forth child was announced today… Now that’s the kind of news we like to read at the start of a new year.
The golden couple have always spoken openly about having more children and even in an interview for February issue of Vogue magazine, the former spice girl admitted that she would never say never to another baby.
The couple’s three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz, are said to be ‘very excited’ at the news of a new brother or sister. And they’re not the only ones…It seems like everyone cant wait to congratulate the Beckham’s. Singer Kylie Minogue was quick to tweet: “WOW… congratulations to Victoria Beckham and David… fourth child on the way.”
The new addition is due in the summer, and maybe it just might be the girl Victoria has hoped for. Either way, I’d like to send a big congratulations to the two of them!
