The Rolling Stones are preparing to retire from rock & roll; but not until after an epic world tour next year, according to a source at The Sun newspaper, making it their final farewell concert series. The source said: “They’re likely to perform in stadiums. It’s almost certainly the last full-scale world tour.”
The legendary band members have rocked out a lot of years as both Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards clock in at 66, Charlie Watts at 69, and Ronnie Wood at 63. With reference to their age, the source added: “The band realise that age is creeping up on them. They want to bow out on top of their game, and not short-change their fans.”
The Rolling Stones’ previous tour, the ‘Bigger Bang’ world tour, ran from 2005 to 2007. The tour generated over $558 million, making it the highest-grossing concert series of all time. It appears, after an alleged farewell tour, The Rolling Stones will be rolling in riches… and maybe by retiring they’ll finally get some satisfaction!
