Natasha Richardson’s Family are ‘Shocked and Devastated’ Over Her Tragic Death

This column was never originally designed for breaking news, nor will I be reporting on daily news often, but today it brings me great sadness to report on the passing of the beautiful and wonderfully talented actress, Natasha Richardson – she will be missed by many!

Gossip legend Liz Smith was the first to report that Natasha was taken off life support at around 1:30 P.M. today, Wednesday at NYC’s Lennox Hill Hospital.

Actor Liam Neeson, released an official statement earlier today through his Los Angeles-based publicist Alan Nierob, who confirmed the Tony-award winning actresses tragic death in this written statement.

“Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”

The statement did not give any details on the cause of death for Richardson, the actress was transported back to New York City shortly after the accident which occurred during a  private ski lesson in which she suffered a head injury after falling on a beginners ski slope at the luxury Mont Tremblant resort in Quebec.

Richardson has appeared in more than 30 films but was best known for her stage work.
