Looks like Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest flick is too hot to handle for some movie fans.
The BBC is reporting that his new movie, Bruno, which centres on his eponymous frou-frou fashionista character, has been slapped with an NC-17 rating because of ‘sexual’ scenes deemed unsuitable for younger audiences – oh the nerve of some people!
Among some of the raunchy scenes are one where Bruno engages in anal sex and another where he sneaks naked into the tent of an unsuspecting hunter – oo-er
Film bosses were hoping for an R rating, which would mean under-17s could still see the movie, as long as they’re accompanied by an adult.
An NC-17 rating is the equivalent of box office death so now the film’s being re-edited and toned down to reach a bigger audience.
But before we cry spoilsports the good news is the deleted scenes will still be available as DVD extras. Amazon pre-order, anyone?
The movie, which was largely filmed in the US, gained controversy this year when Baron Cohen hilariously stormed the catwalk during Milan Fashion Week.
Bruno is released on July 10.
